All-Star Tournament Information

All-Star Tournament Eligibility

All-Star Tournament Application Form

Tournament play has been judged to be a desirable and beneficial phase of Little League Baseball.  It gives children a chance to experience travel and association with players from other leagues.  Most of all, it gives children the chance to play Little League Baseball at its highest level.   We at Central Little League believe the All-Star Tournament is a wonderful experience where players grow in their baseball abilities by leaps and bounds, and strong friendships form with teammates and families throughout the summer.  We encourage all Majors and Upper Minors players and their families to consider all stars play for their children.

The tournament is really 3 tournaments divided into different age groups that include Majors (11/12), 10/11, and 9/10.  For the 2018 season we have a great pool of returning talent at all levels and we expect to enter 2 tournaments teams.  One team in the Majors division and another in the 9/10 age division.  League age 8-year-olds will be able to play in the 9/10 tournament team.

If your child is selected to the team, he or she must be committed to the team for as long as the team progresses in tournament play.

Here is the schedule of tournament play at each level:

8 - 10 Tournament

District Play Start Date – June 16th
State Tournament – Held in Coburn, VA Start Date July 6

9 - 11 Tournament

District Play Start Date – June 23
State Tournament Start Date – Held in Woodstock-Edinburg, VA July 19

10 - 12 Tournament

District Play Start Date – June 23
State Tournament Start Date – Held in Cave Spring, VA July 19

All teams will play in their district level games; only the top team of each age group advances to the State Tournament.

Teams will be announced on June 1st, which is also the day that teams can begin practices.  The practice schedule is at the discretion of the Manager, but parents should expect a significant practice schedule since there are only a few short weeks to get the team ready to play together.

Your player’s coach will be able to answer most questions, but if you have a question that is either personal or based on a specific condition, please feel free to contact Chris Reid (league Player Agent [email protected]), or Raul Arbelaez (league President [email protected]).  Please note that each child’s date of birth and residency status must be verified and approved by the district before he or she is officially eligible for play.

If you want to make your child eligible for All-Stars, please complete the online All-Star Tournament Application Form by May 10, 2018.
