Parents,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that West Milford Little League will not have a 2020 season. I know that you may want to stop reading after that, but we have important information throughout this email.
Most have heard that the Little League World Series itself was canceled, however, Little League International gave guidance to allow local districts and leagues to decide for themselves on having seasons and tournaments based on their individual community and state restrictions and guidance. Unfortunately, we all know that New Jersey has been affected harder than most states during this Covid19 pandemic. This week, our Little League District decided to cancel all-star tournaments and most local leagues have already fully canceled their seasons.
The Executive Board has had a continual discussion for the past 8 weeks about how and when to have a season. We held on to hope that we could wait and have more clarity, but the continued uncertainty of the Covid19 situation looms too large to make decisions for the health, safety, and well-being of children and families within the community. We are now already thinking about next season! We have also had to cancel the 2020 WMLL Raffle as we could not distribute tickets based on social distancing requirements.
Please remember that our 100% volunteer organization does have ongoing expenses that run throughout the calendar year to maintain and improve fields the best that we can. We also know that the current economic atmosphere is especially difficult for many that are facing new (or old) financial hardships and we are sensitive to that. We want to give multiple options, therefore we have found and discussed three potential options to refund our families for the 2020 season cancellation.
1. We will refund in full for the 2020 season’s league registration fees paid and $100 in raffle tickets to the credit card used. (less the $3 online system processing fee)
2. You would be willing to accept a league registration credit (any division) for the 2021 season and convert your payment of $100 from 2020 raffle tickets to 2021 raffle tickets. We can then provide a $20 refund to your credit card as a Super Early Bird Discount.
3. You would be willing to accept a league registration credit (any division) for the 2021 season and convert your payment of $100 from 2020 raffle tickets to 2021 raffle tickets. We will then provide you with an additional credit of $50 in 2021 raffle tickets at no charge (to keep or sell).

If you have recently contacted someone regarding refunding, please still complete the online form.
