Letter From MTLL President Bill Asquith
To parents, guardians, caretakers and all those involved in Monroe Township Little League:
Hello, my name is Bill Asquith. I’m the President of Monroe Township Little League and I’m honored and grateful to have been recently elected to this position.
I’d like to thank Nick Fortunato, the league’s former President for his more than two decades of service and leadership. Nick’s guidance and leadership was instrumental in my decision to run for President, and his knowledge and assistance will be invaluable going forward.
I’d also like to thank the Board members, parents, caretakers, coaches, volunteers and everyone who’s been involved in Monroe Township Little League.
As president, it’s my No. 1 priority to increase participation, provide the highest level of coaching and safety, implement strategies to promote the league, and to work with the community to foster an exciting atmosphere that proudly represents our league and its objectives.
I’d also like to thank you for your patience during our transition. Covid-19 has presented many participation and volunteer challenges for the past 18 months, but we’re excited to see Fall Ball underway and proud of progress we’ve made over the past few weeks.
After a difficult August, we’ve taken necessary steps to improve our website sign-up function; collaborate with Monroe Township’s Parks and Recreation Dept. to plan upgrades for our baseball and softball fields; explore the best local apparel companies for our uniforms; modernize our league logo; enhance our league’s social media presence; and communicate with town officials about ways to cross-promote Monroe Township Little League.
We expect a much more efficient process to sign up for Spring Ball and look forward to the repairs and refurbishments of our fields and concession stand. We also have plans to make the in-game experience more special for our kids and to enhance our league’s relevance within the community.
This year marks Monroe Township Little League’s 70th anniversary. We’ve created a special logo to commemorate the milestone, and we look forward to 70 more years of wonderful growth for our children and our community on our baseball and softball fields.
Thanks to all of you for your support. Please don’t hesitate to email me. I look forward to our conversations and continued dialogue on building a better foundation of a partnership between Monroe Township Little League and its community.
Thanks,
William Asquith
