Below are some of the most frequently asked questions pertaining to Waxhaw Baseball.

Q:  My child and a friend would like to play on the same team.  Is this possible?

A:  Please refer to our Team Selection / Draft Rules available in the Downloadable Forms section of the website.  


Q:  My child already has a commitment on Wednesday nights but he really wants to play baseball.  Can he be placed on a team that doesn't practice on Wednesdays?

A:  Team practice days and times depend on coach and field availability.  However, we make every effort to honor parent requests.  Please enter your schedule conflicts in the comments section during the registration process and we will do the best we can.  


Q:  Ages are listed for the various Programs that Waxhaw Baseball offers, but what is the cut-off date?

A:  The age cut off date is May 1st. 

For example, if your child turns 9 prior to May 1st of the current season (2013 in this case) - they would register for the Minors program (Ages 9 - 10).

This would be the player's age for both the Spring and Fall season for that year.


Q:  Online registration has closed but I would like to know if I can still register my kids to play?

A:  Some divisions may be full and other divisions may have open slots.  Send us an email and we will see if we can accomodate you.


Q:  I registered my child to play but he has changed his mind.  May I get a refund?

A:  If the request is made before the start of gemes, you can receive a partial refund.  There will be a minimum of a $25 administrative fee withheld and a maximum equal to the administrative fee plus costs already incurred by the association (ie. registration fees, uniform fees, etc.) 


Q:  Registration is closed but I have not heard from a coach.  What should I do?

A:  Because of the last minute flood of registrations, rosters are made the week after registration closes.  If you have not heard from a coach and practices should be starting, please let us know.  


Q:  How do I get a season schedule?

A:  With our new website, schedules for your family will be available to view through your Parent Profile.  Once the schedules are finalized for each of your children's activities, all you have to do is login to your account.  

***Also look for the 'GameDay' App for your mobile phone. This will have your player's schedule as well as many more interactive abilities.


Q:  What is your weather cancellation policy?

A:  There are several factors that we take into account - current weather, forecasts and field conditions.  

Because our N.C. weather is often sporadic, we try to wait as long as possible to cancel practices and games.  The determination is typically made by 3:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am on Saturdays. 

Field closure notifications will be made to coaches and members via email.  If this is not the preferred method for contacting you, please let your coach know.  An alert will also be present on our Waxhaw Baseball homepage indicating any field closures.


Q:  Do you offer financial assistance?

A:  Waxhaw Baseball and Waxhaw Athletic Association offer financial assistance to those who qualify.  Please look for the Financial Assistance application under the Downloadable Forms & Files Menu option.
