Well folks, that's a wrap on the 2021 Hermiston Little League season!
We start registration every January, and most often have teams playing deep into July! This season we had 550+ youth athletes ages 4-14 playing for HLL, fielding 47 teams T-Ball to Juniors!
Our community steps up in a BIG way every year to sponsor teams! The support is unbelievable!!
Games started the first week of April and we played eight or nine games a NIGHT at the Field of Dreams for 8+ weeks!! This year we had more teams than ever travel to neighboring towns weekly to play games also! That's a lot of games!!
We sent 5 teams with 79 players and coaches to Baker City for the District 3 All Stars Tournament! Four of those teams were in the Championship, with THREE teams bringing home the title!!
At State our 8/9/10 Baseball team had three tough pool play games! They played hard and LEARNED! These boys will be back strong next year! Little known fact::: this D3 District Champion team only had ONE 10 year old! Tough group of young kids!
Our 10/11/12 Baseball team came out strong in the State Tournament with a shut out win, but their next two games were a battle. Another fairly young team for HLL! They will be back strong also!!
The 10/11/12 Softball team battled through the State Tournament undefeated until the Championship game. Unfortunately, they fell 3-5 in the State Championship game. They were 7-1 in post season play with 6 of those games being 10 or 15 run victories! With only a few 12 year olds, the majority of this team will be back next year and very competitive!!
All in all, another great year for HLL! We want to thank all our sponsors, youth athletes, coaches, managers, umpires, families and volunteers for helping Hermiston Little League be exceptional!!
