Spring Registrations rolled into Fall

In an effort to return to play, we conducted a poll to determine the wishes of our league families.  More than 90% of respondents wanted to return to play in the form of a delayed Spring season starting in June or by Fall.  We waited as long as possible, but based on these results and current government restrictions, returning to play in the Fall is our only possible approach.  We are working in conjunction with Little League International and California District 70 to get our players and volunteers safely back on the field.  All current Spring Registrations will be rolled over into the Fall season and all teams and volunteers will remain the same.  Your player will use the same jersey and will play for the same team with the same coach.  This Fall season will be played using Spring rules and will be more competitive than it has in the past.  Practices will begin the week of July 27th and games will begin August 15th.  Additional details will come over the next several weeks regarding our schedule, updated safety plans, and procedures we will implement to ensure that everyone has a joyous and safe experience at our fields.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience through the uncertainty of the past few months.  The season being delayed has been hard for many families, as well as for our league finances.  This Spring we collected $10,633 in registrations.  For the Spring Season we spent $5,104 on uniforms, $3,312 on player equipment, and $1,628 on insurance and fees.  Our league spends the entirety of our registrations before the season begins, and this does not cover the cost of rent, lights, landscaping, and facilities.  Our board has worked hard to minimize our costs during this time and has taken over the landscaping of the fields, as well as having the portable restrooms removed.  Our league is sustained by Sponsorship and any help that can be offered is greatly appreciated to ensure we can continue to offer an informative and memorable experience for your children.  Attached to this email is our sponsor form.  There are pre-defined levels of sponsorship or we are happy to put to use any amount that can be contributed.

To try and get our players active again as soon as possible, our league will be offering a number of summer activities that can be accomplished under current restrictions.  Announcements for these events will come in the next few weeks, but we are looking to offer reserved batting cage and pitching exercises for players, among others, which can be accomplished 1 on 1 while socially distanced.  We will also be sending out links for activities that you can work on with your players at home to help develop their skills or get them back into the game.  If you have any questions regarding our league’s plans to resume please contact me and I will be happy to help in any way possible.
