What You Need To Know

Some information for our new families:

4, 5 year old girls/boysJUNIOR TBALL continuing to develop game fundamentals, this will feature regular season games.  We will not be offering an Instructional only program this year.  The Junior TBall games/practice will be twice per week.

5, 6, & 7 year old girls/boys – SENIOR TBALL.  We believe this will continue to develop/accelerate baseball skills and make the game more enjoyable for all.  We will field tournament teams for T-Ball. 

7, 8 year olds will play in our ROOKIE BALL league division which will include machine pitch.  We will look to field a Rookie Ball tournament team. 

9, 10 – 12 year olds will play in either MINOR or MAJOR BASEBALL (9 year olds will play in Minor only) .  Those players that played MAJOR Little League in 2019 will continue as MAJOR players but may be assigned to a new team.  There will be tournament teams for Minor and Major.

NOTE:  THERE WILL BE A SERIES OF EVALUATION IN APRIL TO DETERMINE THE BEST LEVEL FOR YOUR CHILD.

Girls 8 and older will play softball in the Mississauga Girls Softball Association and will also have the opportunity to be selected to a tournament team.

*** HELMET PROGRAM/BAT INFORMATION***

ALL players must have a safety-approved helmet. T-Ball & Rookie Ball, Minor and Major Baseball Helmets may be purchased from Erindale for $25.00 (tax included).  Softball helmets that include a mandatory face guard are $60.00 (tax included).  They will be available on Opening Day. MBA & COBA players can purchase their own helmet through local sports retailers.

You may purchase your own baseball helmet/softall helmet provided it is safety approved. Helmets must not have any applied stickers other than safety approval sticker.

Little League International has mandated that beginning with the 2018 season, non-wood and laminated bats used in Little League (Majors and below, as well as the Challenger Division), shall bear the USA Baseball logo signifying that the bat meets the USABat - USA Baseball’s Youth Bat Performance Standard.
All BPF – 1.15 bats were prohibited beginning with the 2018 season. Additionally, the bat diameter cannot exceed 2-5/8 inches for these divisions of play.

*** YOUTH UMPIRE  PROGRAM ***

We require umpires for the 2020 season.  This will count towards your Community Service hours.  Please leave message on club line 905-277-5081, or [email protected]  if you are interested.  Minimum age is 13.  Training, equipment and umpire shirt/hat provided and a per game wage is included.  

YOUTH VOLUNTEER COACH PROGRAM

Boys/Girls over the age of 13 that would like to volunteer to participate as a team assistant should contact us through email.  The commitment will be for the entire season and generally include 2 games and a practice per week.  The volunteer will receive volunteer hours.

*** PLAYER EVALUATIONS FOR 2020 SEASON ***

Boys BASEBALL  (9 & 10)              April 18/19         or on a turf field to avoid multiple reschedules as a result of inclement

Co-ed T-BALL (5/6)                        April 18/19         email sent out when times/location are confirmed.

All players are to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time with ball glove and appropriate footwear. If player is unable to attend please call the club line at 905-277-5081.  Please leave your name & phone #. 

NOTE:  A player may not be selected to a Major Little League team without attending an evaluation.

Coaches will draft players onto teams for the 2020 season in the week following the evaluations/games.  The coach will contact all players.  Practices will be held and uniforms provided prior to opening day.
