Pitching Machine Assessments

PITCHING MACHINE ASSESSMENTS

*******Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 9:00am and 10:00am*******

Who: ALL Pitching Machine (“PM”) players must attend the PM assessments.

What to Bring/Wear: Baseball Glove; approved USA Baseball stamped bat, if you have one, and batting helmet, if you have one.  Players should dress as they would for a practice - sweatpants, sweatshirt, and cleats.

When and Where: We will be holding PM assessments on FLL Field #3 on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 9:00am for returning PM players and 10:00am for new PM Players. Assessments will likely take approximately one hour for each group.

Why: Over the past few years we have drawn names out of a hat, allowed trades, and created the teams that way.  We have found that the teams end up unbalanced.

By holding PM assessments, the managers will be able to see each player and draft that player based on his/her merits.  The goal is that each team in PM will be competitive with one another while learning and enjoying the game of baseball.

The PM draft will be modeled after the Minor and Major league drafts.  Each Manager will pick which players he/she wants on their PM team, with each Manager having a 1st round pick, then each Manager having a 2nd round pick, and so on, until all PM players are part of a PM team.  No trades will be allowed after the draft without the approval of the FLL Board. Coaches will be finalized after the draft.  Children who reside in the same household will be placed on the same team.

NOTE: There is no rain out date for PM assessments.  If we are rained out, then the FLL PM Managers, FLL player agents, and other members of the FLL Board will assign PM teams based on the ability (if known) of each PM player.
