Division Breakdown

Divisions and Tentative Game/Practice Schedules:

T-ball (4-6 years old):
Mainly focuses on keeping kids engaged and having fun. Teaches basics of baseball, uses tee for instruction. Scheduled games include 45 minutes of practice/instruction, then 45 minutes of game time. Games are held at fields on 18th & Broom or 6th & Cleveland (Mack Park) usually once weekly on Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday. Weekday games start at 6pm; Saturday games start at 10am, 11:30am, or 1pm. No scores or standings are kept; Teams are randomly assigned.


Minor A (6-8 years old):
Starts season with Coach pitch, moves to Machine Pitch, and eventually Kid Pitch toward end of season. Games max at 2 hours, held at fields on 18th & Broom or 6th & Cleveland (Mack Park) usually once weekly on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. Weekday games start at 6pm; Saturday games start at 10am, 11:30am, or 1pm. Practices may be scheduled an hour before a scheduled game or another night during the week. Score is kept, no standings or playoffs; Teams are randomly assigned.


Minor AAA (8-11 years old):
Emphasis on instruction and introduction to Competitive Play; All Kid Pitch. Games are held on larger fields at 18th & Broom and 6th & Cleveland (Mack Park), once or twice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays; separate scheduled practices. Any 10-11 year old who is not drafted into the Majors will play here in Minor AAA. Those 7 and 8 year olds who have played at least one year in Minor A may elect to play Minor AAA. Scores and standings are kept during Regular season to produce Playoffs, Finals, Championship, and possibly All-Stars.  Once moved up to Majors, players cannot return to Minor AAA.


Majors (9-12 years old):
Competitive Inter-league Play - All Kid Pitch. Games may be held at 18th & Broom, New Castle, Stanton, Capital, or Suburban Major Fields. 2 week day games start at 6 or 6:30pm and Saturday games start at either 10am or 1pm. All players must attend at least one tryout session. Score and standings are kept; playoffs, finals, championship, and possible all-stars.


Juniors (13-14 years old) & Seniors (15-16 years old):
Competitive Interleague Play, uses conventional 90ft diamond with pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. Games are played on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Games may be held at Wilmington Joe White, Naamans, Newark National, Canal, Midway, or Brandywine/Claymont Dyer Fields. All players must attend tryouts and be drafted.  Scores and standings are recorded district-wide.
