About Blake
Blake has been around multiple sports growing up including baseball, soccer, CrossFit, and powerlifting. It wasn't until he reached adulthood that he began to take an interest in volleyball. Blake has played in various recreational leagues and can be found playing outdoor volleyball during the summers at Cleveland Park. As a left-handed hitter, he enjoys playing right side but also loves the challenge of playing defensively in the back row. Blake began coaching at C1 in 2015 along with his wife, Alyssa as a way to be more involved in the sport, promote good sportsmanship, and serve as a positive role-model for adolescents and young adults. Blake enjoys helping the players improve their athletic conditioning and thinking of new practice drills.
Blake attended Greenville Technical College and received his Associates in Computer Networks in 2005 and is currently attending Ashford University pursuing a degree in Digital Marketing with an expected graduation date of Dec 2019. Blake has worked at Verizon since 2008 and is currently a supervisor of HQ Operations. His team specializes in emerging technology. When not coaching, Blake enjoys staying active in his local gym as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, sand and grass volleyball.
