13-year-olds and parents,
Now that Majors Little League is over, it’s time for the big leagues...
Welcome to LGLL Juniors! It’s the most fun you’ll have playing baseball — with and against your friends — as well as competing against other local baseball teams.
Please read this important program overview and remember to register beginning November 1st at lgll.org.
About the Juniors Program
LGLL Juniors is a competitive program for boys and girls age 13-14, designed to prepare them for high school baseball. Players graduate to a conventional “60/90” baseball field — a 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet 6 inches — which is the same size as high school and MLB fields.
While the Los Gatos Juniors program is only a few years old, it has seen some phenomenal success thus far. Of the 18 kids that made the LGHS freshman team last year, 13 of them played Juniors in their 13yr and 14yr seasons.
Training and Games
Juniors is an interlock league that competes locally against other leagues within our district, allowing them to play against several of the same kids they’ll play in high school. Dedicated parent volunteers manage and coach the teams, and professional umpires staff every game.
Practices are held at Fisher Field — featuring newly renovated batting cages — so players can walk from school. To ensure proper high school preparation for our players, LGLL hires Sirious Baseball coaches to help with practices and skills drills.
Spring Season Kick-Off: “Battle of The Cats”
We kick off the Juniors season in early March with the highly-anticipated “Battle of The Cats” at Fisher Field. This annual, weekend-long event is an inter-Los Gatos tournament, with a format similar to those in travel ball.
This fun-filled, family event includes music, BBQ, and friendly, competitive baseball. AND the winning team gets their individual names engraved on the trophy for years of boasting rights!
