A playoff championship will occur at the end of the season.  Players will be assigned to their respective teams in a manner that provides for balanced, competitive teams. Little League Age 8, 9, 10- Evaluations are required for placement in either the Farm or Minor leagues.  Players, who do not get selected to play in the Minor league, will be eligible for and will play in the Farm league.  See local rules for eligibility requirements. Little League Age 11 players who: (10 choose not to play in the Major League; or (2) try out for the Major League and are not drafted onto a Major League team will play in the minor league.

Majors: (Ages 10-12) The Major League is a competitive program that incorporates a "travel team" philosophy.  There are minimum playing time rules (6 consecutive defense outs and one at bat per game) that all major league managers must adhere to.  Player's knowledge and experience will grow with the regular game schedule, potential post season play, and the extensive practice schedule.  Players between the ages of 10 through 12 who are interested in playing in the majors are selected through a try out process.  All 12 year olds will play in Majors unless their family petitions otherwise, players selected for a Major league team do not tryout and will remain on their respective Major League team.  * Players that tryout for Majors and are not drafted, are placed on a "Player Selection List".  ONLY those players on the list are eligible to be brought up to Majors is an opening occurs during the season.

Juniors: (Ages 13-15) The Junior/Senior League program is open to players between the ages of 13-16.  The teams from Ellington will play against teams from surrounding towns.  The Ellington Junior League is primarily for players between the ages of 13-14 while the Senior League is open to players ages 15-16.
