Covid 19 Return to Play Guidance

CAC COVID-19 Return to Play Guidance (updated Jan 2023)

CAC has been in close coordination with Anne Arundel County to ensure we make a return to youth sports as safe as possible for our athletes and their families. All participants are required to complete a new COVID-19 waiver when registering for each sport and the below requirements are in place for participation in CAC athletics.

Participation in CAC programs is only allowed if you have NO signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

· If you are sick or feel sick, you should remain home;

· Masks are no longer required for all indoor activities.

· A list of players who attend each practice and game should be kept and will be requested if someone test positive for COVID-19 to allow for accurate contact tracing. If a team member does test positive the athlete's parents should contact the Anne Arundel Health Department at 410-222-7095 or 443-481-3140 to report the positive case. Quarantine and testing guidance for other players will be provided by the health department.

· Where possible, player gear and drinks should be spaced out to ensure social distancing during break times.

· No sharing of drink bottles or any personal equipment;

· No centralized hydration or refreshment areas.

SPECIFIC RETURN TO PLAY GUIDANCE:

Definition of a "Close Contact": Exposed to a positive COVID-19 within a distance of less than six feet for more than 15 minutes (cumulative within 24 hours). Clarification can be provided by the Health Department on a case-by-case basis. Any student deemed a "close contact" by a school, should be considered the same for CAC athletic purposes.

POSITIVE COVID CASE: When a player/coach/volunteer is positive for COVID-19, they must immediately isolate for 05 days, regardless of vaccination status. This means they are unable to go to school or play any sports. A player/coach/volunteer can end isolation after five days if he/she no longer has symptoms.

Important Registration Information

Payments are only accepted by Visa or MasterCard. If you do not have a credit/debit card and would like to explore alternative payment methods, please contact the commissioner for your program.

When you register a player, you will see a list of all programs currently open for registration.  These programs are not listed in alphabetical order; rather, they are listed in order of registration closing dates with the earliest closing dates near the top.  Please make sure you browse the full list of offered programs to ensure you choose the correct one.

All sales are final. Absent any exigent circumstances, no refunds will issued.

If you have any questions during registration, or are unsure about which program and division is correct for your child, please contact the commissioner prior to completing your order. You have the option to add a registration to your online shopping cart and save it for checkout at a later time. This gives you the opportunity to get any questions answered and then return to your account to finalize the registration and make your payment.

All sessions for which registration is currently open, or opening soon, will be listed under the "register today!" tab.

To register for an open session, select the Log In button at the top of the page.

If you wish to register for a sport or activity but do not see it as an option, please use the website menu to navigate to that program’s page for more information, provided by the commissioner.  You may also find the contact email address for the commissioner by selecting the menu item called "Contact Us."

Family Account

In order to register a player, you must first create a family account.  This can be done by selecting the green “Log In" button (top right), or the banner that says “Click Here to Register” found on the League Home page.

The person who creates the family account will be considered the account owner, and once the account is created you have the option of adding another adult as a parent/guardian. The second adult can be added with or without a separate login email and password; however, no email address may be used more than once. If you like, you may add a second adult without an email address, in which case both adults would share the same login credentials.

Coaches, commissioners and administrators will use this registration system to notify you of important information, so please make sure to include all necessary contact information.  Including your cell phone number is crucial because we have the ability to send mass text messages through the website to alert parents of important information, like field closings.

If you wish to complete registrations for CAC programs and A3 Soccer, you will also need to create a family account with the A3 Soccer registration site. Click here.

Annual Family Membership Fee

The Crofton Athletic Council charges an Annual Family Membership Fee of $95 per family, each calendar year.  This fee is automatically charged to the family’s account at the time of the first full-season registration of the calendar year.  We have specified full-season registration because there are some registrations that do not trigger the CAC Annual Family Membership Fee, such as  tryouts or training clinics that do not constitute a full season commitment to a sport/program.

Family Fee FAQ

What is the fee cost?
$9
5 per family

When do I pay the fee?
The fee is assessed one time per calendar year, to each family who registers a player for any sport administered by the Crofton Athletic Council.  The membership fee will be assessed when you complete your first online registration in the calendar year, and will then remain effective through December 31st of that year.

Why do I pay this fee?

The membership fee is to help the CAC cover general organization wide costs such as insurance, field maintenance and mowing, other facilities maintenance, website and online payment processing, and payments for services relating to facilities management, accounting and administrative work.

Adult Volunteers

Adults may also register themselves for coaching and other volunteer positions through this website.  Even if you have no children registering for a CAC program, you may still create a family account for yourself.

If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, assistant coach, team manager, or other volunteer, please register by logging into your account, and then from your homepage select “Apply to Coach / Volunteer.” Please note, not all programs allow online registration for volunteers. Registration for volunteers opens and closes at the same time as registration for players. If you do not see your program listed as an option for registration, please contact the commissioner for that program.  See the Contact Us page, for more information.

All volunteers must have a background check completed through Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks.  Click here, to go to the AA County website for further instruction on getting a background check, or to verify your status in their Active Volunteers Database.
