Session 3Defend/"Tackle"/Restart  Defend/Tackle/Set Pieces
Session 4Review/Match PlayReview/Match Play

*Note that the use of the word tackle under Flag Rugby does not indicate that this is an actual tackle. In flag rugby, pulling a player's flag is the equivalent of tackle in Rugby.

All participants are required to have 2 mouth guards and soccer/rugby cleats to participate. No metal studded cleats are permitted. If assistance is needed to obtain the required items please contact us and we will work with you to acquire them.

We would prefer that you sign your child up before the event starts so that we can plan accordingly. However, we will allow sign ups at the park. While there is no registration fee for this camp, we will need all parents to fill out and sign the camp application and liability waiver for children to be able to participate. This can be done electronically or we will have copies for you to fill out at the park.

It is recommended that kids attend each session to get the most benefit. Each session will feed off of the session before it. By the end of the month kids should have an understanding of basic Rugby rules of play, concepts and safety.

Player Kits

During the training camp we are not requiring a Jersey or Non-Contact Shirt.
However, it does create a sense of pride and in players as they look and feel
like a team. We recommend that players have a jersey/shirt. If your child played
last season and their Jersey/Shirt still fits we encourage you to bring them to
training camp wearing their jersey/shirt.

There are a few items that are required to ensure the player's safety. Each player
MUST have the following:

   1. Soccer or Rugby Cleats
   2. A minimum of 2 mouth guards
   3. Water

We have a club store set up at Ruggers Rugby Supply where you can find some
of the items needed. It is not required that these items be purchased from the club store.
This is merely provided as a convenience. Scrum caps can also be found at Ruggers Rugby
Supply but are not required. You can reach the club store by clicking on the logo below.

Parent Involvement

We encourage parents to get involved to support and encourage
their child(ren). There are many ways you can help. Here are some examples:

1. Bring a snack for after training.
2. Volunteer to set up or take down equipment at the beginning or end of play.
3. Assist coaches in demonstrating skills or directing traffic during drills.
4. Volunteer to be an assistant referee.

There are many other ways you can help and we welcome
your suggestions and feedback!

Thank you for supporting us as we develop Jacksonville's Youth Rugby Community!
