Cheerleading

Welcome to Crofton Cheer!

Crofton Athletic Council (CAC) is proud to offer a fun and exciting cheer program. CAC Cheerleading teaches young athletes (boys and girls) the basic essential skills to engage the crowd through leadership and support the home team players. CAC cheerleading will provide opportunities for each athlete to learn cheers, proper hand and body movements, as well as jumping techniques, tumbling, and stunting. There will be a big focus on fun while each cheerleader learns important life skills such as teambuilding and leadership. Whether your child has never cheered before or is a veteran cheerleader, all they need is spirit. CAC Cheerleading is excited to collaborate with the Crofton High School Cheerleading Program during our fall cheerleading season. We are looking forward to collaborating with additional community partnerships.

Winter Competitive:

We are excited to announce that registration for our Winter Cheerleading Program is now open for athletes from age 4-14! Please see below for additional program details!

We are building our Winter Cheer Team(s) to compete at a few competitions over the next several months. This is different from sideline cheerleading and requires all athletes to fully commit to the practice schedule & competition season in its entirety. All practices & competitions will be mandatory so that the teams can be successful through the month of March 2024. Please carefully consider this when signing up your athlete.

Practices:

Practices start Thursday, Nov. 16 and will practice TBD (most likely between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 pm) There will be 3 or 4 additional practices held outside of normal practices on the weekends awaiting on time. Location: TBD (Crofton Area).

·         Practices are mandatory except for mandatory school events, pre-approved family vacations, and communicable disease.

·         Practices will either be Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday evenings plus five Saturday or Sunday practices at All Seasons Athletics

·         A pattern of three or more unexcused absences may result in removal from the team.

Practice attire:

Cheerleaders should come in athletic attire and be ready to work. Sports bras, socks and cheer shoes are required for every practice. We expect our cheerleaders to have their hair up and out of their faces, have a full water bottle and be on time.

While we understand they need to bundle up during the colder months – no hoodies, baggy T–shirts or pants, boots etc. will be worn during practice. Expectations regarding jewelry, phones, attitudes, and teamwork will be discussed with the teams at the first practice.

Uniforms

This year to help offset the cost of uniforms – we are offering the ability to rent a uniform from CAC Cheer, purchase a gently used uniform from a previous cheerleader (price TBD) or purchase a new uniform for $175. These options will be discussed with you on 11/6 during evals & fittings and will be determined based on the order of registration.

Additionally, each cheerleader will be offered the option of purchasing a warm up jacket (if they did not participate in fall cheer) and potentially warm up pants. All cheerleaders are required to have all black cheer shoes & all black, no-show socks for their uniforms.

A payment plan will be offered for our winter competitive team.  If you did not pay the family fee in the fall, you must pay that and the down payment of $150 at the time of registration.  The next two payments will come out in December and January for $150 each.  We will do our best to accommodate all interested cheerleaders, however, there is a possibility we may not be able to do so if we do not have enough interests in a specific age group(s).
