Welcome to Ken-Caryl Little League!

Ken-Caryl Little League (KCLL) is all about baseball. That's all we do. It's all we think about. We love the game and want every child to have this quintessential American experience.

Ken-Caryl Little League is part of Little League International - the same organization that brings you the Little League World Series.  Little League is the world's largest volunteer youth sports program with over 4 million volunteers worldwide. The program has been in existence for over 70 years and brings a wealth of experience and resources to our local chapter. See www.littleleague.org for more information.

Ken Caryl is part of Little League Colorado District 5 and is located in the Little League Southwest Region. More information about Distrcit 5 can be found HERE.

KCLL practices and plays along the Kipling St corridor from C470 to Hampden.  Many games are played at Ken Caryl Community Park, located at the corner of Kipling and Chatfield. Most practices are conducted at area elementary schools such as Shaffer, Mortensen, Columbine Hills, and Ute Meadows.  Kid-pitch divisions sometimes play some interleague games against other area Little League programs such a Platte Canyon Little League (Bailey, CO) or Cherry Creek Little League (Aurora, CO). Most commonly, a team will only play 2-3 games at an "away field" in any given season.

KCLL is more than just a youth baseball program. As a community Little League, we work with area businesses to raise funds that we use to invest in local field improvements. Over the past 8 years, KCLL has invested more than $75,000 in area baseball fields building dugouts, improving infield dirt, and adding field amenities such as outfield fences and protective fencing. Many of these improvements are completed at area schools, thus not only improving the community facilities, but also the facilities of our local schools.

All registrants of KCLL are assigned to a team. While we do require different skill levels to participate in certain divisions, there are no "player cuts" or dissolved teams that result in players not making a team or missing a baseball season.

Little League rules have minimum play requirements - and KCLL enhances those rules to emphasize a positive player experience. One of core principles is to focus on player development and game play such that each player wants to participate again next year.

We offer programs nearly all year round for boys or girls aged 4-16.  We have two primary baseball seasons and then offer indoor clinics through the winter months.  Below is some high level information about our seasons and programs. For more information, please visit our Registration Info tab.

SPRING SEASON

The Spring Season is our main baseball program. The season runs from March to June.  Teams are formed through a player draft and team parity is a point of emphasis. The season culminates with end of season tournament that leads to divisional champions (complete with trophies).

FALL SEASON

The Fall Season is our developmental baseball program. The season runs from August to October.  Teams are formed through player preference and coach selection. Team parity is NOT a point of emphasis. Wins and losses don't really count, there are no division standings, and no divisional champions. Fall Ball is all about learning new skills, playing new positions, and enjoying the game of baseball.

WINTER CLINICS

KCLL partners with an indoor facility to provide a once-per-week set of clinics through the winter months. The winter clinics typically begin in November and go into January, with a break across the Christmas / New Years holidays.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

ALL STARS

Each year, KCLL selects multiple teams of players to participate in the Little League All Star District tournaments.  These tournaments start in the first week of July a the District level. Games are played in Littleton, Aurora, or Colorado Springs. The teams that win the District Tournament are invited to participate in the Little League All Star State tournament. This tournament stars in mid July with games being played at locations across the state (including Thornton, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Durango/Cortez, and Grand Junction.  For teams comprised of 12 years old and older, the team that wins the State tournament is invited to participate in a regional tournament. These tournaments are played somewhere in the SW Region, including Waco, Texas (12 year olds), Louisiana, New Mexico, or Colorado.  Games played at the SW Region are televised on the Longhorn Network.  The winner of the SW Region Tournament is invited to play at the Little League World Series.  The World Series is played in August at Williamsport, PA with games broadcasted on ESPN.

SPECIALIZED CLINICS

At different times throughout the year, KCLL may offer additional clinic opportunities. Sometimes we hire outside organizations to provide the clinic instruction. These clinics typically have a fee.  At other times, KCLL coaches may offer special skills clinics focused on various skills such as hitting, pitching, or fielding.  All of these clinics are conditional on the availability of volunteers or meeting required registration numbers.

Ken Caryl Little League is a 100% volunteer organization (with the exception of paying some of our umpires a small per game fee). All Coaches and Board Members volunteer their time with no financial compensation. We value all the time that these committed individuals provide to make KCLL possible.

Registration fees are kept as low as possible to allow as many of our area youth as possible the opportunity to play baseball. While we do not have a formal "sponsorship program," the Board does approve of certain fee waivers in order to let kids play baseball for those that find the registration fees difficult to fit into restricted budgets. Please contact a Board member if you require such a waiver.

Thank you for your interest in Ken Caryl Little League!!!  We hope to see you at the ball fields!!

If you have additional questions, you may contact any of our Board members.  Please see the About Us tab or the bottom of the Home page for contact information.
