🟥🟨 DISCIPLINE RULES

RED CARD (EJECTION)
(Cards may be given or upgaded before, during or after a game)

A player will be sent off for:

• Violent conduct or fighting

• Serious foul play

• Spitting at any person

• Denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO)

• Offensive or abusive language/gestures

Penalty:

• Immediate removal from game and field area

• Team plays short (down one player)

• Minimum 1-game suspension

• Additional discipline possible

YELLOW CARD (CAUTION)

Given for:

• Unsporting behavior

• Dissent

• Persistent fouls

• Delaying restart

• Illegal entry/exit

Penalty:

• Player must leave field and may re-enter at next substitution

SECOND YELLOW = RED

• Two yellows in one game = ejection

• Team plays short

• Minimum 1-game suspension

CARD ACCUMULATION

• 3 yellow cards in tournament = 1-game suspension

• Red cards may carry additional suspensions

⚽ PENALTY KICKS

Awarded for defensive fouls inside the penalty area:

• Tripping, pushing, holding

• Handball

• Dangerous tackles

Procedure:

• Ball on penalty spot

• Only kicker vs goalkeeper

• Players outside box

• Keeper on line until kick

🚩 OFFSIDE RULE

A player is in an offside position if:

• In opponent’s half and

• Closer to goal than the ball and second-to-last defender

Offside is called only if the player:

• Interferes with play

• Interferes with an opponent

• Gains advantage from rebound/deflection

No offside on:

• Throw-ins

• Corner kicks

• Goal kicks

📍 OFFSIDE RESTART

• Indirect free kick

• Taken from where the offside offense occurred

🔄 RESTART RULES

FREE KICKS

• Taken from spot of foul

• Opponents must be 10 yards away

Goal Area Exception:

• (defense) free kick: anywhere in goal area

• Attacking free kick: placed on nearest goal area line

GOAL KICK

• Taken anywhere in goal area

• Ball in play when kicked and moves

• Opponents outside penalty area

CORNER KICK

• From nearest corner arc

• Ball inside arc

• Opponents 10 yards away

THROW-IN

• From where ball left field

• Two hands, over the head

• Feet on or behind line

📌 GENERAL RULES

• Based on standard (CCYS) rules and guidance from the Head Field Supervisor

• Referee decisions are final UNLESS a designated Field Supervisor deems it necessary to intervein. Only a designated field Supervisor may do so in the best interest of our current policies and procedures. 

• Tournament officials may enforce additional discipline

• CCYS Field Supervisors will be the end decision makers on all tournaments, games and events that we host or are in contract with.
