Little League Umpiring

Umpiring

Umpires are an extremely important part of the game of baseball. Umpires are tasked with managing the game and providing a high quality experience for the players and coaches on the field. Although Wilsonville Little League compensates its umpires for their time and effort, the money should be secondary to the desire to working hard and being an active part of the development of youth athletics.

Wilsonville Little League and District 4 provide training opportunities on at least two occasions in the months leading up to the Spring season. Attendance at either a local or district training (or demonstrable experience) is required to become an umpire in the league. Information regarding these training opportunities will be posted on the league web site and social media. The minimum age to umpire is 13 years old and new umpires must demonstrate competency on the field before they can earn compensation. If you are willing to work hard to help ensure that players get the best quality baseball we can provide then consider becoming an umpire.

If interested in getting involved as a Little League Umpire please contact our Umpire in Chief - Chris May (see About Us - Board of Directors)
