Our Academy program is a year long commitment that runs from June through April. There are a few breaks in the season, but we ask that players and families be committed to the entire soccer year.
A typical soccer year looks like this:
June, July, August: 2 practices a week. 1 Weekend Tournament during the summer.
September, October, November: 2 practices a week. Games on the weekend
December, January: No Practice. 1 futsal game per week
February, March, April, May: 2 practices per week. Games on the weekend (starting in March). End of Season Cup Tournament (State, President's or Founder's).
Foothills believes in the value of players having multiple interests outside of soccer. Many of our Academy players play multiple sports or participate in other activities. Conflict between activities is bound to occur. Our ask is, when your player has activities that conflict with your Academy schedule, that you proactively communicate with your coaches prior to the conflict to work out an agreeable solution.
We organize and practice academy style. This means that while there may be multiple “teams” at each age/gender, the players will all practice as one Academy with the same head coach and the same assistant coaches. This allows players to learn from each other, challenge each other, and float between the two “teams” as necessary. A player may play in 1 or both “team” games in a weekend, depending on several factors.
