Travel League Frequently Asked Questions
  • What COVID Precautions are in place?
    •  A:   The Lady Mac Hoops organization will follow the suggested state guidelines and Canon McMillan School District guidelines for the safety of all players, coaches and parents
  • Is there going to be Travel Season for the 2021 -2022 season?
    • A:  Yes, we have acquired sufficient gym time for our practices and the majority of our games will be held at a 3rd party facility organized by the CVYBO League (Chartiers Valley Youth Basketball Organization).
  • How long is the season?
    •   A:  The regular season starts the first week in December. We play mostly in the CVYBO Chartiers Valley Youth Basketball Organization League. We start practicing almost right after tryouts to get ready for some preseason tournaments and we may attend preseason clinics before the travel season starts. The season will wrap up mid February with playoffs.
  • How many games per week and where do we play?
    • A:  We mostly only have 1 game a week. Usually on the weekend. In some cases schools we play have their games during the week.
  • What are some of the places we will be traveling?
    • A:  Some restrictions are still in place due to COVID, therefore most of our games will be held at third party facilities throughout the season.  (Salvation Army Pittsburgh, 1060 McNeilly Road, Pittsburgh, PA - Drive Basketball Training, 11 Best Drive, Emsworth, PA 15202 - Cubs ASA Club, 113 S. McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001)
  • What is the Registration Fee and what is all included?
    • A:  Registration fee is $200. All players will be receiving new uniforms this year.  The uniforms will include 1 reversible jersey and 1 reversible shorts. Any lost uniform item or if you need a bigger size you will be able to purchase a new item at the start of the season after tryouts.
  • Will a travel player be able to play in the in-house rec league?
    • A:  We ask that players who make a travel team, in most cases, not play in the In House Rec League. The game is much faster pace in travel and we would like to keep the player playing at that level. Please talk to your teams head coach for more information.
  • What about Tournaments? Will the teams play in weekend tournaments?
    • A:  Yes, Tournaments are extremely fun for the players and really is a great way to accomplish team bonding.  Any tournaments will all be local tournaments and do not require a hotel stay. Each team will decide what tournaments, if any, they will participate in throughout the season. The cost will be split up amongst players for each tournament.
