SYBSA is proud to offer winter clinics for a variety of ages and baseball-skill building over the 2020 winter season to help prepare our players for a GREAT spring season. All clinics (except the 13-15 yo) will be held at Dirt Dawg Sports (40 Industrial Drive in Canton) and will be led by trained Dirt Dawgs staff with some additional support by SYBSA coaches. The 13-15 year old program will be held at Fieldhouse Arena, 83 Eastman Street in Easton.
WAIT LIST INFORMATION: Wait list is on a first come, first serve basis. Your spot is not guaranteed. If you are accepted from the wait-list, you will be notified via email. If enough participants sign up on the wait-list, SYBSA will explore the possibility of adding a new clinic; however it may be at different dates and times from the original clinic.
Baseball Skills (Six Weeks)
This program gives players an in depth look at the skills necessary to compete as an fielder, as well as a hitter. Players will go through hitting and fielding workouts that will allow for players to work on age appropriate skills. Drills changing weekly to further expand all players’ abilities. Running stations to cover all aspects of the game. Rotate players through multiple hitting stations, leveraging our training aids to build a better swing from the ground up. We like to create a relaxed & fun atmosphere to ease nerves, which in turn creates a clinic that the kids have fun with it, learn a ton and want to come back each week.

Intermediate and Junior League Skills (Six Weeks)
The Winter Skills program provides players an opportunity to reengage with baseball whether that is after a winter break or few baseball seasons off. The program will focus on core skills (foot work, glove work, hitting and throwing) that will prepare them for their pending spring season. Our program is open to all Sharon players aged 13 -15; however, we encourage HS freshman to seek out the HS Captain practices as their first option for a winter program.

Catchers (Baseball & Softball)
Provides a unique opportunity for baseball and softball catchers to advance their skills and knowledge. This clinic provides catchers with training on some of the following skills: Proper Warm-up, Receiving, Blocking, Footwork, Exchange, Release, Throwing to all bases, Bunt Fielding Techniques, Catcher Pop Ups, HitTrax Catcher Workout Evaluation, Video & Assessment Reports. Note: If catchers cannot bring their own gear, SYBSA can make arrangements to lend equipment to the participant for the duration of the clinic.

Baseball Pitchers
Drills focused on the finer mechanics of the game. Initial focus on correct form and mechanics as we want our players to perform fewer reps correctly, create muscle memory that will lead to proper mechanics. This program will also consist of coaches working on building up arm strength for pitchers with very minimal throwing.
