The Druid Lakes Youth Lacrosse Association (DLYLA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2015 with the goals of:
· Providing the children and families within the districts of Druid Hills and Lakeside High Schools, and other adjacent areas, the opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse;
· Offering local communities, the chance for children of all abilities to develop skills and increase their knowledge of lacrosse through the adoption and use of philosophies shared by USA Lacrosse and the Positive Coaching Alliance; and
· Fostering and promoting understanding in the fundamentals of lacrosse.
We strive not to win the “world championship” of 6/7th grade, but rather to teach boys and girls in grades 1-8, skills and game knowledge required to advance to the high school level. This enables our high schools to compete with long established programs in the metro Atlanta area.
Both Druid Hills and Lakeside High Schools are Title 1 Schools, so DLYLA encourages and supports participation of students from all economic brackets by offering low registration fees and scholarships based on financial need.
