Are the May & June camps for football mandatory?

While we encourage all players to attend the camps for May and June but it is not mandatory to play for the season.  However, it will give your athlete an opportunity to connect with their teams, coaches and get into shape.  We will not have any tackling during these camps but we will be going over our playbooks.

What is the required clothing/uniform for the May & June camps for football?

Please have your player wear comfortable clothes that they can run in. They will also need lots of water, we are unable to provide water for our athletes.  We will be playing on grass and cleats are preferred.

When are the May & June camps/where will it be located?

May camp will be held from May 30th to June 16th with practices on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays from 6-8pm at the Monte Vista High School practice field (behind the stadium, near Los Cerros Middle School)

When does the football season begin?

We have our TBird Day on July 8th.  Football practices will begin on Monday, July 17th from 6:00-8:00pm at Monte Vista High School.

What is TBird Day?

July 17th is the official start of our season for T-Bird Football & Cheer. Attendance is mandatory as it is the day where the participants and parents will meet coaches, as well as the board. All league mandated paperwork needs to be completed and turned in.  You will turn in medical clearance from a doctor to participate in cheer or football, all players MUST  bring a certified birth certificate or passport (for all returning and new participants), pick up equipment, take a picture  and weigh in. This is all league required in order to participate, this is not a T-Bird request.

Don’t forget your checkbook as deposits are required for the football gear and volunteer hours. The checks will be filed and returned to you at the end of the season once the equipment is returned and the volunteer hours have been fulfilled. These checks will not be cashed prior to the end of the season.

When & where are the football practices?

Starting July 17th - practices will be held five days a week (Monday to Friday) from 6:00-8:00pm. After our jamboree, currently scheduled for August19th, practices will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm and games on Saturdays until the end of the season.

While we understand that this is in the summer and might conflict with some of your plans, please do your best to have your athlete attend as we are mandated to have 10 hours of conditioning for each player before they are allowed to wear pads.

What is a Medical Card for Cheer & Football and where can I pick it up?

Medical clearance forms are provided by your pediatrician and required by the league.

What equipment is required for football and what do the TBirds provide?
