FYD Vision:  The Foundation for Youth Development, Inc. foresees men and women from area churches and the local community getting involved in the lives of children.  We believe that each child should have the opportunity to develop the skills and values needed to achieve their full potential and avoid the disabling pitfalls historically presented in their neighborhoods.
FYD Mission:  With support from community churches, in conjunction with private industry and concerned citizens from all walks of life, the Foundation for Youth Development Inc., will develop and coordinate new and existing programs for children and adolescents which emphasize:   *self-discipline   *academic achievement   *moral values   *social skills

FYD Family,

Yesterday, we played some really tough games during the SE Region Semifinals in Port St. Lucie (for D2) and Port Charlotte (for D3).  Our athletes played well and we are extremely proud of them.

After all of the dust has settled, we have 3 football teams from FYD who will be advancing to the regional championship game:

       D3 PeeWee Valrico Rams

       D3 JV East Manatee Bulldogs

       D2 JV Westchase Colts

These three football teams will join all of our Cheerleading and Dance Squads who qualified for Regionals at our Cheer Jam a few weeks ago at the Manatee Civic Center.  They will all compete next weekend in Orlando to determine who will be the SE Region (Florida, Georgia, & Alabama) CHAMPION!

Scores from yesterday’s games are listed below.  For details, pictures, and more; make sure you check our webpage, twitter, & Facebook.

UNL        Palm Beach Gardens Gators 34       Westchase Colts 22

D2 JV     Westchase Colts 30                        Parkland Rangers 8

D3 JV     East Manatee Bulldogs                  BYE (Automatically Advanced)

D3 PW   Valrico Rams 13                                Port Charlotte Bandits 6

D3 JP     Port Charlotte Bandits 42                  Manatee Wildcats 13

D2 JP      Pompano Beach Chiefs 6*                Westchase Colts 0

 * The Jr. PeeWee game between the Chiefs and Colts was one of the most intense, well-played Pop Warner games that I have seen.  We went a full 5 double overtime rounds before a winner was determined.  The Colts missed being able to tie up the game on the last play by one inch.  It was truly an extraordinary game.

Let’s all get behind all of our teams.
