About Us
The Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association
(NWOSSCA) is comprised of head, assistant and former coaches of high
school soccer teams in Northwest Ohio. The NWOSSCA is one of the
largest Districts in the State of Ohio in terms of both geographic size
as well as registered members. All registered members of the NWOSSCA are also members of the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA)
and the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America).
The NWOSSCA’s mission is to promote scholastic soccer in
Northwest Ohio and, in conjunction with the OSSCA and the Ohio High
School Athletic Association (OSHAA), to promote the development of
soccer at all levels.
The NWOSSCA promotes these ideals by providing
training and information to its members, by recognizing the athletic and
academic achievements of the players in the District and by recognizing
the achievements of the coaches, referees and volunteers in the area.
In addition to naming all-district teams and player of
the year honors, the NWOSSCA presents the following awards annually:
public and private coach/assistant coaches of the year; coaches awards
for promoting sportsmanship, ethics and integrity; team and individual
academic awards; team sportsmanship awards; referee of the year and the
Albert Laux award honoring longevity of service to a single school.
