2024 Spring Softball Registration Information

Regular registration period will run from 1/01/2024 thru 1/17/2024.  Coaches, or their designated representative, should attend the February meeting. Registration fees are $50 for girls ASA ages 8 and under and $70 for ASA ages 9 and over. (ASA age is the child's age as of 1/1/2024.)  There is a family max of $120 (not shared with baseball).

Late registration period will run from 1/18/2024 thru 3/1/2024.   Anyone wishing to register after 3/1/2024 should contact the Registrar, Jessica Beard.  After 3/1/2024 there is no guarantee you will be able to register your child to play this Spring as these requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

How to RegisterAll registrations will be done online this year through this website - Click on the "Registration Info" menu above then "Available Programs."  Paper forms will no longer be used.   All players are required to register at their ASA Age Division (age as of 1/1/2024).  Players will be assigned to their final age division after final registration and team numbers are determined.  Often times it is necessary to move some kids up in order to field a complete team at a particular age group but this is not guaranteed.  Generally speaking, kids who have already played one year of t-ball are assigned to the 8u Division even if they are 6 years of age or less.  Our experience has shown they develop much quicker at the 8u level.

FUNDRAISER PARTICIPATION  Every family registering a child has an obligation to either participate in our raffle ticket fundraiser by selling ten $10 raffle tickets or pay a $100 buyout fee instead.  This fundraiser is a critical part of funding the organization's activities and equipment purchases/maintenance.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT  A great deal of help is needed every year running the concession stand and helping with field prep during Dauphin-hosted tournaments.  The funds generated from concessions and hosting tournaments is a vital part of running a successful program while also helping keep registration fees from being higher.  Without everyone's participation the burden of fulfilling these tasks winds up unfairly falling on the shoulders of a few dedicated individuals.  Accordingly, there will be a $150 concession stand/field prep fee imposed per family which will be collected separately from other registration related fees. (You will have the option to pay this fee together with other fees if you have no intention of fulfilling this volunteer requirement)  A check is the preferred method and should be post-dated for 6/15/2024.  Families must fulfill 3 volunteer shifts. (1) shift of Game night concession stand + (1) Tournament Concession stand + (1) Volunteer shift of your choice which may be tournament field prep duties, Clean up Day, or another concession stand shift to prevent the DAASC from cashing the $150 check.  The check WILL NOT BE CASHED until the end of the season.  If you fulfill your 3-shift obligation the check will be destroyed, if not, the $150 will be retained by the DAASC and used to defray costs to pay for concession stand/field prep help.  Head coaches (only) are exempt from this fee and requirement.  You can mail your $150 post-dated check to Dauphin Softball Association PO Box 202, Dauphin, PA  17018, bring it to the first practice, or hand it to any Board Member.

Registered players will NOT be assigned to a team until ALL registration fees (including $100 fundraising buyout if applicable) and volunteer fees have been collected.

If you register your child and we do not have enough players to field a team at that age level, or your child does not want to play at the age level she is assigned, we will refund any registration payments you made prior to the start of the season on April 15th.

Note:  Dauphin Baseball's Program has similar Fundraiser and Volunteer Requirements as Dauphin Softball's Program.  If you are registering a child for baseball and one for softball keep in mind each program's requirements are mutually exclusive from the other so you will have to fulfill both sets of requirements.
