S.A.Y. Northern Soccer League Complaint Form

If you want to fill out a complaint form please complete the form above leaving no blanks. All complaints will be discussed by the S.A.Y Soccer Board Members. We will come to an agreed solution on the matter as soon as we can. If further action needs to be taken this will also be discussed. Please note we don’t take these complaints lightly and will be handled properly.

Northern Soccer League (S.A.Y.)

S.A.Y. Northern Soccer League is based out of Kingsford, MI, but our league is split into five districts consisting of areas in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin (Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Norway, Niagara, and Florence/Crystal Falls). We split our league into two seasons; our Passers, Minors, and Seniors divisions play from May-June with a tournament held for the Minors and Seniors division in July. Our Wings, Strikers, and Kickers divisions play from July into August with a tournament held in mid August.

We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and fully run by non-paid volunteers.

Goals of our league

S.A.Y. has very specific goals in mind. A summarized version of the goals of S.A.Y. are:

1) To grow responsibly while improving the quality of soccer.
2) Safety above all else.
a) Fairness above everything else except safety.
3) All children should be able to learn the game of soccer in a safe environment that provides maximum participation.

A 2005 Study by the University of Notre Dame found that:
* 68% of youth reported seeing spectators yell at referees
* 48% of youth reported that coaches yelled at the referee
* 43% of youth reported being teased by a fan
* 36% of youth reported that coaches yelled at them during a game
* 26% of youth reported that coaches urged them to retaliate

It is the position of S.A.Y. Northern Soccer League that we want to promote this game as a fun activity for children. We encourage coaches to learn more about the game in order to help every child on their team to develop their skills at all positions. We also encourage coaches to play children at all positions on the field. Wins are always more fun than losses, but if the younger children are given opportunities to develop their skills they will be more likely to enjoy the game and continue playing it into adolescence and adulthood.
