District 14 Umpire Mechanics Clinic

Clinic Agenda: 

This free clinic is open to all District 14 volunteers. No umpiring experience is required.
Rob McCarthy and his D14 Staff Umpires, will lead students through on-field drills designed to simulate game-like situations.

SATURDAY March 2nd - BASE MECHANICS
The first session is geared towards the base umpire on the 60 foot Little League diamond. Instruction includes the basic signals, positions, footwork, and concepts such as "angle/distance" and "timing".

Students should wear comfortable clothing and must wear closed toe shoes (tennis shoes or turf shoes).

SUNDAY March 3rd - PLATE MECHANICS 
This session is for students intending to umpire behind the plate during the 2019 season. Topics include "the slot" and proper stance, tracking the pitch, and movement after the ball has been put into play. This is an excellent introduction for new plate umpires and a great refresher course for the veteran umpire.

Students should bring their own plate gear (mask, chest protector and shin guards). 

District 14 Baseball & Softball Rules Clinic

Clinic Agenda: 

This free clinic will cover the major rules in the 2019 Little League Rule Book including the new rules implemented for this upcoming season.  A presentation and small group breakout sessions will be used to provide this information.  Please arrive by 7:45am to get registered and prepared for the clinic.

Clinic Needs: 

If you have a 2020 Rule Book, please bring them to the clinic.  I have a limited number of new rule books that I can provide to you if you do not have a rule book on the day of the clinic.  These will be provided on a first come first serve basis.  So if you need one, get there early.  

In addition, please bring a pen and paper to take notes and participate in the breakout sessions
