The DLYLA board met on November 21, 2019 to elect a new slate of officers for the next two years. John Clarke will serve as President, following several years acting as Treasurer. John also serves as coordinator of the boy’s program for DLYLA. Dave Flanagan will serve as Vice President having served as president during the past 2 years. Dawn Taylor, will serve as Treasurer after serving as Vice President the past two years. Dawn also serves at coordinator of the girl’s program for DLYLA. Jim Harris will serve as Secretary following a 2-year stint as parent representative on the board. Tommy Gambrell joins the board as our new parent representative.

The board will continue to work hard to promote lacrosse and train youth in our area. We run free, learn-to-play clinics and run mini-camps to instill interest in the game to young players. The board works to keep registration costs low and are among the lowest rates in the metro Atlanta region. We offer need-based financial aid to qualifying families. 

We have strong connections with Druid Hills and Lakeside high schools—John Clarke serves as community coach for Druid Hills boys’ team and Dawn Taylor serves as community coach for the Lakeside girls’ team. Players from both of these schools help DLYLA by coaching, score keeping, and officiating. DLYLA welcomes participation by other high school programs in the area. DLYLA works to provide excellent coaching for our youth by recruiting coaches and providing training in coaching techniques and safety / first aid. 

We continue our partnership with the Georgia Swarm professional lacrosse team. This includes group game events and instructional clinics provided by players from the Swarm.
