About Us

The West Portsmouth Youth Basketball Association is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 Organization  formed in 2007 to financially and athletically support the community of West Portsmouth and Scioto County. Originally designed to help increase skills, the organization has worked to develop a facility for children to play basketball in a safe environment year round and to develop relationships with mentors that resulted in traveling and competing in basketball tournaments around the region.In 2007 Bobby Evans, donated the football complex including the stadium, field house and practice field to our association. This gave us the opportunity to increase outreach and positive development to our community to include Pee Wee Football as well as basketball. The following year, with the support of local businesses and a donation from The Maycel Clark Family, we were able to purchase the remainder of the complex, including the building and surrounding property. We now have a facility for the community to play basketball all year round. Our goal had been achieved!Now that we have achieved this goal, we continually need support from the community to maintain it.
