ZERO TOLERANCE RULE

The West Portsmouth Youth Sports Complex Program has instituted a Zero Tolerance Rule beginning with all its activities. This is created to encourage a positive environment for all; players, coaches, officials, and family members. The rule states: "Directors, coaches, players, cheerleaders, family members and spectators that demonstrate behavior that is detrimental to any area program may be removed from that respective program. Detrimental behavior is defined as 'physical and/or verbal abuse towards any participant, coach, or official at any time. Vulgar language, physical abuse or gestures WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Violators of this Zero Tolerance Rule during The West Portsmouth Youth Sports Complex Program functions will be ejected and may be subject to game, practice, or season suspension.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

ALL coaches, parents (NOTE: parents are signing for and including other spectators that are there “with them”) and player must agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, which is outlined here within. Failure to do so may result in a warning, suspension, or expulsion.

PARENTS’ CODE OF CONDUCT

  • I/We will not yell at or argue with coaches or referees.
  • I/We understand that improper behavior at a practice, games or tournaments may result in a parent or spectator being asked to leave the room by the referee, coach, or a Board member. So, the coach does not receive a warning or asked to leave the room due to the actions of the parent/spectator.
  • I/We will not behave negatively at practice, game or tournaments, and I will treat coaches, opposing team’s, parents and opposing players with respect.
  • I/We will learn the rules of the sport and policies of League.
  • I/We will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, tournament, practice, or other youth sports events.
  • I/We will never use profanity.
  • I/We will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.
  • I/We will support coaches, officials and referees working with my child to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  • I/We will demand a sport environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
  • I/We will remember that the matches and games are for children, and NOT for the adults.
  • I/We will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
  • I/We will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, parents, officials, referees, and fans with respect, regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.
  • I/We promise to help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectable fan, assisting with coaching or providing transportation.
  • I/We shall leave the coaching to the coach during game, tournament, practice, or other youth sports events. We shall do our best not to give our child instructions during the game, tournament, practice, or other youth sports events. We will from the bleachers and will refrain from being on the game, tournament, practice area.
