All Stars
Donelson All Stars 13U did it again. This team played till after midnight again. 14 hours of playing ball, they fought hard, they played extremely well and they brought home the 2nd place Trophy. These were the most exciting games, these girls drew crowds from all over the park to watch their games. We could not be more proud of our players and coaches. A big shout out to the parents who hung in there for a long day we appreciate you.
The Civitan Express
The 32nd annual Donelson Hermitage Christmas Parade was held on December 4, 2016. Donelson Civitan Girls Softball organization entered their float this year entitled “The Civitan Express”. The float was designed as a train complete with a billowing smoke stack.
The many volunteers that came and helped build the float did a wonderful job! Steve Fann drove the float while many of our girls walked or rode on the float and threw out candy. Despite a little drizzle the parade went on without a hitch. Mayor Megan Berry led the parade.
Make sure to join us for next year’s parade! Plan to help us design and participate in this local tradition.
Rain Delay!
Did you know that Donelson Civitan Girls Softball Fields have flooded more than once? The first major flood was in 1984. The second flood was in 2010. The National Weather Service, recorded 13.57 inches of rain in a 36-hour period. Close to 11,000 properties were damaged or destroyed in the flood. The Cumberland River crested downtown at 51.86 feet at 6 p.m. May 3, 2010. Flood stage is 40 feet.
