Hello FCLL Volunteers,

We want to thank you for officially registering to be an FCLL Volunteer for our 2024 Spring Season.  This new year and new season brings some changes to how we are going to background check our Volunteers.  We are now required to complete a Live Scan background check for all Volunteers in addition to our JDP background check.  There is also an additional mandatory training needed for our coaches to complete.

For those who are not familiar with Live Scan background checks, here is brief synopsis of what it is and what it will check for.  Live Scan is inkless electronic fingerprinting.  The fingerprints are electronically transmitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for completion of criminal record check.  This is a quick and efficient way to check an individual’s criminal history.  It can reveal any previous convictions or arrests that an individual may have, any outstanding warrants, and sex offender registry information.  Because Live Scan is based on fingerprint data and not just name, DOB and demographic information, this makes Live Scan much more accurate than any traditional background check.

Live Scan only needs to be done once for the duration of your time with Fontana Community Little League.  Unlike JDP background checks that need to be done yearly, Live Scan is only done once as long as you remain a volunteer within our league.  Since this is the first year we are being required to have Live Scan background checks, as a courtesy we are offering to Live Scan our volunteers for free!  We will have limited dates that we are offering to our volunteers, so please make sure you attend.  If you are unable to meet any of our Live Scan offerings you will be required to get your own Live Scan background check at the cost of the facility of your choice.

Live Scan Dates:

• Tuesday 12/12/23 – 5:30pm – 8:30pm (first hour will get priority player verification) @ Claim Jumper
• Wednesday 12/20/23 – 5:30pm – 8:30pm @ Coyote Canyon Park (last day for all Team Managers rookie and up due to try outs)
• Saturday 1/6/24 – time TBD @ Coyote Canyon Park (Team Managers and Coaches attending Try Outs rookie and up must already have Live Scan completed before this date)
