Snack Bar

SNACK BAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Every registered player is required to have their parents/guardian work a shift in the snack bar, unless they buy out.
  • Each parent must work a total of one (1) shift per player. Shifts are broken out into three (3) hours each.
  • There is a maximum of three (3) shifts per family.
  • There are no exemptions from snack bar duty, unless you opt to buyout.
  • Eligible workers for the Snack Bar must be at adults over the age of 18. It is an Environmental Health rule that a worker must be at least 16 years old to work with hot food.  Any worker under the age of 18 MUST be approved by the snack bar director PRIOR to the shift being scheduled.

If a family fails to meet their snack bar obligation, their deposit check will be cashed by the League. Merely showing up does not mean the requirement to work in the Snack Bar has been met.  Sending someone to work in your place, may result in the forfeiture of your deposit should your replacement fail to be at least 18 years of age or fail to complete shift responsibilities.  Volunteers will be required to follow all food safety requirements, snack bar procedures, and to sign-in at the beginning of their shift.

Trained and approved teenage workers can only be scheduled by the Snack Bar Manager.

If you are working a shift, absolutely no children are allowed to enter the snack bar area.

Every worker is required to wear close-toed shoes; no flip flops or sandals.

DEPOSITS & BUYOUTS:

Snack Bar shifts require a Snack Bar deposit check for each player to ensure each family's obligation is met. The deposit will be returned by the end of the season if the obligation is fulfilled.  Separate deposit checks for each player are required.

If a parent chooses to buy-out their Snack Bar duty, they can do so for a fee.

* If you do not show up for your assigned shift, the league will cash your deposit check. Failure to show up results in under-staffing and an increased workload on those who are working that shift.

SNACK BAR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Each shift will have 2-3 adult volunteers scheduled to work.

A Snack Bar Committee Opener will meet the starting shift to open the Snack Bar and will provide a basic orientation. A Closer will be there at the end of the day to make sure closing duties have been done, close out the cash register, and lock-up.

Shift instructions and Food Prep directions are posted in the Snack Bar. It is the shift workers’ responsibility to get the Snack Shack open or closed if scheduled for an opening or closing shift.
