The South Lake Eagles Cheer program is a Pop Warner recreational program for athletes ages 3–13. We focus on teaching strong fundamentals, building confidence, and developing teamwork in a positive and structured environment.

Our cheerleaders support our football teams throughout the season and have the opportunity to compete locally. We welcome both first-time athletes and those with previous experience. Whether your child is just starting out or ready to grow their skills, our program is designed to help them improve, belong, and compete with pride.

Practices are held at:

Gray Middle School

Season Start Date

The official first day of practice begins July 15, 2026.

Practice Schedule

Practice days and times vary by division and team.

On average:

Pre-Labor Day:
Monday through Thursday evenings

After Labor Day:
• Wednesday practices are removed
• Saturday games begin
• Practices typically run 1.5 to 2 hours

Final practice schedules will be communicated by your athlete’s head coach.

What to Bring to Practice

• Water bottle
• Yoga mat or towel for stretching
• Hair secured
• Proper athletic attire

South Lake Eagles Cheer supports our football teams throughout the regular season.

Regular Season Overview

• 1 Preseason Jamboree
• 8 regular season games
• Possibility of playoff games based on team performance
• Games are held on Saturdays
• Games are held across Central Florida, typically no more than one hour away

The Jamboree will take place in August. Location and times are TBD.

Game schedules are typically available in August.

Typically, each age group cheers at the same time each Saturday. However, families should always refer to the official schedule for any updates or changes.

Game Day Expectations

Cheerleaders are expected to attend all scheduled games in full uniform and represent the Eagles with pride, sportsmanship, and team spirit.

Athletes will be asked to arrive approximately 2 hours prior to game time to allow for preparation and official book check.

Parent Involvement

Coaches and/or Team Moms will provide each team with a volunteer schedule.

Parents will be asked to:

• Work concession shifts at home games
• Provide Gatorades and snacks for games as assigned

South Lake Eagles Cheer teams have the opportunity to compete during the season in accordance with Pop Warner guidelines.

Competition Preparation

Competition preparation begins as we move into September.

During this time, practices will focus on:

• Tumbling
• Stunting
• Dance
• Routine execution

Cheerleaders are expected to attend all designated competition practices.

Mid Florida Competition

The Mid Florida Competition is typically held the last weekend in October at Silver Spurs Arena.

Each team will compete at this event.

If your age group places 1st or 2nd, the team will advance to Regionals.

Regionals

Regional Competition is typically held Thanksgiving weekend.

Teams must qualify at Mid Florida in order to advance.

Nationals

Teams that advance past Regionals may qualify for Nationals, which are typically held in December.

Additional competition entry fees and travel expenses for Regionals and Nationals are not included in the base registration fee.
