  1.   I will demonstrate fair play and good sportsmanship at every practice, game and tournament. I will also encourage fair play and good sportsmanship from other players, coaches, officials, and parents.
  2. I will attend every practice and game that I can, and I will notify my coach if I cannot make a practice or game.
  3. I will come to practices and games on time and ready to learn. I accept responsibility for bringing any equipment necessary for practice (balls and water) and games (water and team uniform).
  4. I will follow coaching direction and will not be disruptive during practice or games, nor will I "mouth off” or use bad language.
  5. I will treat other players, coaches, officials, and fans with respect regardless of race, sex, or ability, and I will expect to be treated accordingly.
  6. I will respect the authority of the referee, even though I may sometimes disagree with the call.
  7. I deserve to have fun during my basketball experience. I will alert parents or coaches if it stops being fun.
  8. I deserve to play in an environment free of drugs, including tobacco and alcohol, and will expect everyone to refrain from their use at all practices and games.
  9. I will encourage my parents to be involved with my team in some capacity because it is important to me.
  10. I will conduct myself with honor, dignity and treat other players as I would like to be treated. I will remember at all times that I am representing FYB, my team and my community.
  11. I understand that poor behavior during practices, games, or tournaments may result in lost playing time and expulsion from the team.

Parent's Code of Conduct

For the health and safety of our kids, weapons, smoking, chewing tobacco, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or pets (including dogs of any size) are NOT allowed on FYB sponsored gyms. If you are seen with any of these things, you will be asked to leave the campus and may be found in violation of the Parent Code of Conduct or may be reported to the local authorities which may result in criminal charges and/or disciplinary action by the Frenship Youth Basketball League.   Also, public intoxication or being under the influence of any controlled substances on FYB sponsored gyms, or any other place where FYB teams are gathering, practicing, or competing will not be tolerated. These actions may also result in being reported to the local authorities which may result in criminal charges and/or disciplinary action by the FYB Board of Directors.

FYB's PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. I understand that the Frenship Youth Basketball League is organized to promote youth athletics and good sportsmanship.
  2. I understand that my conduct as a parent will have a definite impact on youth for whom it is intended, the program, and myself.
  3. I pledge to support, cooperate, and work in every way to promote youth athletics in the best interest of the programs and youths involved.
  4. I pledge to be respectful to all officials, even in an expression of disagreement.
  5. I do agree to adhere to the principles of good sportsmanship and to the rules and regulations defined by FYB and any organizations affiliated with FYB.
  6. I understand that if I display poor sportsmanship, whether during or following a game, I will be subject to partial or permanent program suspension. Unsportsmanlike conduct is defined as, but not limited to the following:
  • Harassment of participants, coaches, or officials

  • Public threats or physical violence
  1. Regulations regarding adult's ejection or suspension will follow the guidelines listed below:
  • I understand that if I am asked to leave a game, I will be suspended from attending the next game to be played by my son's/daughter's team.
  • I understand that if I am asked to leave a second game during any one season. I will not be allowed to attend all the remaining regular season games and the end of season tournament.
  • I understand that the FYB board will review all adult ejections or suspension and may extend any suspension beyond what is stated above as deemed appropriate for the offense.
  1. I understand that any suspension may be appealed by using the following process:

The suspended individual should submit in writing a detailed account of the incident to the president of the association within 48 hours of the suspension. The statement should give names of any witnesses that observed the incident.

  1. This Code of Conduct does not exclude discipline by FYB. In the case of an ejection, the parent must leave the facility (out of sight and sound) in which the field is located and cannot return until 1 hour after their team's next match. If the parent does return before this time, an additional 2 game suspension will be incurred. Typical FYB disciplinary actions for offenses are shown below:

  • Ejection from a game (first offense) = 1 game suspension
  • Ejection from a game (second offense) = 1 season suspension
  • Ejection from a game (third offense) = life suspension from participating in FYB sanctioned events
  • Verbal assault/hostile challenge of a referee/coach/player = 1 year suspension from attending games
