The President of the San Carlos Patriots has opened their arms to our community and are willing to take anyone who would like to play pop warner football or cheer! The San Carlos Patriots are nationally ranked in cheer, regionally ranked in football, and created the first Challenger football and cheer program in San Diego! They offer very reasonable prices for cheer and football and the Challenger Program is FREE! A Message from your former President
Welcome to the 2019 football and cheer season! Last year I made a commitment to you and your children to always put them and their safety first. I have always tried to be transparent with you all so it should come to no surprise to anyone that our numbers have been consistently dropping over the past few years. We have been given a great opportunity to unite with our neighbors the San Carlos Patriots. Through many meetings and conversations with their President and board I was unable to deny the obvious any longer. Our low numbers last year forced us to make decisions that placed our players in a division they were not fully prepared for. This led to injuries and frustration for both my players and staff alike. This change will happen effective immediately and will serve not only Mt. Helix and San Carlos but also open up to La Mesa, El Cajon, Spring Valley, Mission Trails, Mission Valley and even Clairemont. This decision now guarantees your player to be placed on the appropriate team for their age and skill. With this being said I am stepping down as the president. Coach Teshawn Johnson, a stellar gentleman whom I consider a friend will now be your new President. He brings years of experience, tremendous passion and a great understanding of the sport! Jr. Seau Sports Complex will remain our home and practice field but we will be converting to the green and gold color scheme of the Patriots. I ask you to please welcome your new teammates with open arms as they are doing for us. Please be assured that your child’s safety and passion for these amazing sports is and always has been my number one priority. I truly am humbled and honored to have been your President.
