St. Mary Magdalen Athletic Association Registration and Eligibility Standards
Saint Mary Magdalen Athletic Association (SMMAA) affirms that the core value of our athletic program is to provide a positive learning and athletic experience for each participant and purpose of these programs is to promote Christian attitudes while encouraging healthy physical activity. These activities should foster:

PLAYER REGISTRATION AND ELIGIBILITY
The Saint Mary Magdalen Athletic Program has three sports seasons; fall, winter and spring season. Registration for each season is handled via the online registration process on this website www.smmbulldogs.com. St. Mary Magdalen is a member of the Wilmington Diocesan Catholic Youth Ministry’s Athletic Program and eligibility is based upon CYM regulations as well as St. Mary Magdalen’s Athletic Association by-laws.
A player is eligible to participate in the SMMAA program if the one of the following criteria is met:
- The participant is a student at SMM.
- The participant is a parishioner at SMM.
- The participant attends Religious Ed. classes at SMM.
- The participant is granted affiliation to the SMM sports program from CYM, by reasons of residence location. Example, if the participant lives within the boundaries of SMM as determined by CYM, and CYM assigns that individual to SMM to participate in sports based off the address of the participant.
- The participant is granted an affiliation change from CYM, to participate in the SMM sports program.
All participants of JV and Varsity programs at SMM will be placed on teams based solely on skill level of the particular participant. All evaluation process and team placement are approved by the coordinators of the individual sport. It is the intent of the SMMAA that all participants be able to compete at a level in which they can be successful, and compete against participants of similar athletic ability.
SMMAA, ALONG WITH CYM IS DEDICATED TO OFFERING ALL OUR PROGRAMS TO PARTICIPANTS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
SMMAA will adhere to any and all guidelines concerning player participation on specific teams, as set forth by CYM.
