2018 Fall Softball Pitching Clinic

SCLL is pleased to announce that we will teaming up with Lisa Banse, a professional pitching instructor, to provide additional instruction to any girls between the ages of 7-11 (league age 8-12 next spring) currently part of the SCLL softball or baseball programs who would like to learn how to pitch. The cost will be $25 and will begin on Sunday, October 7th, at The Barn (located in Lemont, PA) from 1:00 - 2:00. Sessions will run from Sunday, October 7th through Sunday, November 18th.  A parent, or an experienced catcher, will be required to stay and work/observe the instruction. The only way for girls to truly become stronger pitchers is through repeated reps on their own, so it is imperative that parents understand and are familiar with the drills they should be working on during their own time.  It is not mandatory to be at every session, but you may not attend any of the sessions if you are not registered through our system.  This is an extremely discounted rate to receive such high quality instruction. We hope we will have many girls who want to take advantage of the opportunity!

More about Coach Lisa: Lisa Banse, Sr Instructor - Softball Pitching, Catching and Strength Training
Lisa has had an extensive playing and coaching career. She is a multi-year member of the D.E.S. Caserta Professional Softball Team in Caserta, Italy.  During a successful four-year career at The University of Iowa, she was a two-time NFCA All-American (2003, 2005), three-time All Region selection (2003-2005), and Big Ten Pitcher of the Year (2003).  On the Division I coaching scene, she was a part of the University of Iowa softball clinic roster from 2001 to 2010, an assistant coach at Bethune-Cookman University during the 2006-2007 season as well as her most recent stint as an assistant coach at Penn State University.
Her philosophy on pitching is from the ground up.  Working the legs, base and the initial drive off the mound where a pitcher’s power originates. She likes to keep her approach to pitching simple with focus on the all-important mental game on the mound.
