When are tryouts?
We have our formal tryouts for the Fall/Spring season the first week in June
on a Monday and Tuesday night. Exact dates will be posted on our
home page.
How do I get a Spring season tryout?
We don’t have a formal Spring tryout, all available spots will be posted
on our website. Contact the Storm admin at
[email protected] and
they’ll connect you with a coach, who will then arrange for an
individual assessment, once
player transfer policies
and requirements have been met.
When does the season start?
Fall
-
Practice starts August 1st.
Start times vary per team. Please check with your team’s coach or
team manager.
- Games start in September.
Spring
-
Practice starts February 7th.
Start times vary per team. Please check with your team’s coach or
team manager.
- Games start in March.
What and how long is my commitment?
If you join during the Fall season your commitment is for Fall and Spring. If
you join in the Spring, you’re only committed for the Spring season.
When you sign the commitment letter, you are committing to an Idaho Storm
Team. This commitment means you agree to all activities of the team including
practice, games, tournaments and any related travel. Players are responsible
for paying their portion of team activities, unless other
arrangements/notifications are made.
What is the registration process?
Our Club uses Sports Connect to register our players,
coaches, assistant coaches and team managers. Brandy Suydam, our Registrar
does an excellent job of helping us all stay organized and registered through
IYSA. We must have all players registered and uniforms fitted and purchased in
a timely manner. It is important that registration is complete, uniforms
ordered, and all fees paid by Deadlines set by the Club. Brandy can be
contacted at
[email protected]
with any further questions.
Uniforms are sized and paid for separately from Club fees through our
third-party provider
Soccer Etc.
Uniform fees range from $50-$150 depending on the team/age and are ordered new
in odd numbered years. Therefore, if joining Storm on an even year (e.g.,
2020), the uniform will be used for 1 year and if joining Storm on an odd year
(e.g. 2021), the uniform will be used for 2 years.
Players will need to visit
Soccer Etc.
at
7085 W Overland Rd #1910, Boise, ID 83709
(Located in the Overland Park Shopping Center)
to get sized and purchase uniforms. This needs to be done by Club established
deadlines to avoid a rush fee and to guarantee uniforms will be ready in time
for season play.
What are the Fees and how are they paid?
Our Club uses Sports Connect to administer player accounts
and billings. Once an offer is accepted in the system, a payment plan can be
selected and due dates are provided. Club fees range from $300-$550 depending
on the team and are used to cover fees and expenses such as registration,
fields, referees, IYSA, Equipment, etc. Uniforms are sized and paid for
separately through our third-party provider Soccer Etc. Uniform fees range
from $120-$150 depending on the team and are kept for 2 years. A player that
is behind on account payments will not be able to participate with the team at
practices or games until payment is made or a payment plan is worked out with
our treasurer. Payment methods accepted by Storm are as follows:
-
Venmo:
Storm-Soccer
-
Checks: Make payable to Storm and mail to
PO Box 6445, Boise, ID 83707
-
Credit Cards: Sports Connect allows for payment via credit
card, however, we are charged a 2.9% fee for credit card transactions.
Mike Rich serves as our treasurer and handles all of the Club’s
finances. Any further questions can be directed to Mike via
[email protected].
What time and where are practices held?
Practices are generally held between 5 and 7:30 pm, 2-3 times a week. Practice
times and locations vary by team.
Practice locations (fields)
How often and where are games played?
There are typically 1-2 games a week. Most games are held at the Simplot
Soccer Complex. However, there are special arrangements made for make-up
games, or for other reasons, which may take place at other fields.
How often do teams travel for tournaments?
This varies by team. It’s usually decided by the team family. Coaches
will send out a survey with several tournaments that they are interested in
and then parents can respond with their child’s availability and
interest level. Once tournaments are decided, each player is committed and
responsible for payment of travel and tournament fees. Typically teams travel
for two tournaments a season.
Some of the locations we have traveled to in the past include St. George,
Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Las Vegas.
