Our Coaching staff has great experience both on the field up to the collegiate level, and coaching travel and youth sports around the Olentangy area. We're pleased to have such an experienced and dedicated group of coaches that are truly invested in teaching the game the right way and having fun while doing so.
Kurt Eichorn, Head Coach 7U has coached youth baseball for several years within OBLL organization and this will be the first year with the BBC. Kurt had a successful collegiate baseball career at Kent State University that resulted in three conference championship and individual awards including conference awards, National hitter of the week, and was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2004. Kurt and his wife Sarah have 4 kids and live in the Olentangy school district.
Josh Blackstock, Head Coach 9U - This is Josh's first year coaching youth baseball. He grew up in Georgia and played travel baseball in the East Cobb baseball program, which is a highly respected summer baseball program in the country. He played shortstop at George Wallace College in Alabama for 2 years. From there he went on to play professional in the Continental, Frontier, and Golden Leagues. Josh's first professional year, he won the batting title with a .371 average, and he also helped lead his team to the championship that year. He spent his career playing middle infield and turned into a utility player towards the end of his playing years. He's excited to take his collegiete and professional baseball experience, to develop the boys baseball technique and love for the game. Josh and Marie are raising Hayden Blackstock who attends Liberty Middle, and Ben and Adler Wohrer who attend Wyandot Run.
Mike Rabin, Head Coach 11U - Mike has been coaching youth baseball for a few years now. This will be Mike's third year as a Head Coach after a very successful first two seasons, and he's excited to take his experience at The Ohio State University as a 4-year starting center fielder to continue developing our youth's baseball skills. Making his mark at OSU,Mike earned a number of accomplishments in various career accolades such as stolen bases (#5), hits (#7), and runs (#16). Mike and his wife, Brooke, have 3 children who attend Olentangy Schools.
Lenny Bornino, Head Coach 13U – Lenny has been coaching youth baseball for the past 7 years, at all levels from coach pitch to kid pitch. This will be Lenny’s fourth year coaching travel baseball. He's a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army (2016) where he taught three years in the Department of Physical Education/Kinesiology at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. He has a number of years working with our youth as an educator both at the university level and grade school level. Lenny and his wife, Emily, have 3 boys who keep them very busy in their own athletic endeavors and attend Olentangy Schools.
