Community Fit - Exercise Class (2026)

This is a fitness class that focuses on full body conditioning. Building strength and stamina for everyday wellness. Instructor: Kathryn Norman
Participants must be at least 16 years old.

Classes will meet at Beery Field at 8:30 am Monday and Wednesday mornings starting June 15 and ending July 22.
What to bring:
Your own yoga mat. (we will have a few to share but good to have your own)

Football Grades 3 & 4 FLAG 2026

Football - Grades 3&4 Rocket Flag Football is a developmental program that teaches young athletes the techniques, positions, rules and skills used in the game of football. Saugatuck plays in the West Michigan Junior Football League and plays games on Thursdays and Saturdays with other local communities in West Michigan. The season runs August through October.   Registration deadline is June 30th. 

Grades 3 and 4 will be FLAG FOOTBALL = $45
First practice will be the week of August 17
Teams generally practice: Mon, Tues and Thurs. 6pm till 7:30pm

Cheerleading 2026

Cheer our Rocket Football teams on to victory! Participants will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading and be part of one of the best squads in the league. Practices will be twice a week in the evenings and games will be on Saturdays during September and October. Deadline is June 30th

Flag Football Grades 1-2 2026

This flag football league is for children grades 1&2.  Players will learn the fundamentals of football along with sportsmanship. No equipment needed. Deadline is June 30th

Rocket Football Grades 5 & 6 2026

Rocket Football - Grades 5&6 Rocket Football is a developmental program that teaches young athletes the techniques, positions, rules and skills used in the game of tackle football. Saugatuck plays in the West Michigan Junior Football League and plays games on Saturdays with other local communities in West Michigan. The season runs August through October.  Saugatuck Community Recreation provides free rental equipment included in the registration cost. Players will be fitted in order of when full payment is received. First come, first serve.  Registration deadline is June 30th.

Grades 5 and 6 will be TACKLE FOOTBALL = $60
First practice will be the week of August 17th (no contact/conditioning)
Teams generally practice: Mon, Tues and Thurs. 6pm till 7:30pm

Games will be on Saturday Mornings: September 12- October 24

Volleyball Girls 5&6 Grade 2026

The Lakeshore Volleyball League is for 5th and 6th grade girls. Teams will play matches on Saturday mornings verses Hamilton, Holland, Allegan and Fennville. Players will learn the basic fundamentals /rules of volleyball. 
Teams will practice 2x per week. Starting the week of October 19
Games will be Saturday mornings Nov, 7,14,21 and Dec 5

Join us for the Lakeshore Track Meet! Participants will compete against athletes from other local communities in the events they each learned and practiced at their local Track & Field camps! Each participant can participate in up to two running events and one field event (details below).

Pickleball Camp 2026

This is an introduction to the sport of Pickleball. The local Douglas / Saugatuck Pickleball Club is hosting a camp for students ages 10-14 years old at the Schultz Park Pickleball Courts. Instructors will go over rules, court positioning, basic strategies and effective ball placement. 
Pickleball is an addictive life time sport for all ages. Paddles and Balls will be provided.
Cost includes a T-shirt.
Dates: August 4 and 5

Swimming Lessons/ Session 3 July 20 (2026)

Learning how to swim is a must if you live in Michigan, we are surrounded by water! These lessons are based on ability and will cover everything from going underwater for the first time to endurance swimming. Participants need to be at least 4 years old.
A parent/guardian must remain on site during the lesson. 
Classes run Mon through Thurs for two weeks (8 total)
Level I (Bluegill)= Learn to feel comfortable in the water. Must be able to hold themselves up along the edge of the pool to participate. Must be at least 4 years old. Water Exploration 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Level II (Trout)=Fundamental skills of floating without support and recovering to a vertical position. Basic self help and rescue skills. Primary Skills 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. 

Level III (Bass)=Coordination of front and back crawl, introducing the elementary backstroke, treading water, and safe diving rules. Stroke Readiness 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
