FAQ

What is Peak League Sports?

Peak League is the best adult sports and social league in glorious Fort Collins. That means you get to play your favorite sports, get tons of free swag/goodies during the season, take advantage of special happy hours at breweries just for you, and make new friends all around town.

We want Fort Collins to have the most fun, stay active, and be social! You don’t have to be an all-star to play, it’s all about having a blast with your friends, and making new ones!

Fun really is the name of the game – we want you to forget about that meeting/report/test, blow off some steam, and enjoy yourself!

How much does it cost to be a member?

It’s absolutely free to become a member! Simply go to “Register Now” on the homepage to start your account; pick your favorite sport, and enjoy all the fun during the season!

What are the different skills levels of the leagues?

Remember that the main focus of Peak League is to have fun! Play at whatever level is most comfortable to you. The general classification of our leagues is recreational – focused more on socializing, fun, and enjoying yourself. We want our athletes to feel challenged and to harness some of their competitive spirit, but not to the point where people get hurt or tensions ruin the game.

So whether you’re a college all-star, a high school hero, a mid-level player, or just like to be active and have fun, our leagues are perfect for everyone!

I want to play and have fun, I am just not that good at sports or very active. What do you think?

That’s totally fine - the main point of Peak League is to have fun! We’re not here to judge, and our league is including of everyone. So don’t be afraid to not be the best, or even fail – the experience of making new friends, camaraderie, team work, being active, and letting loose is invaluable.

When you join Peak League you’re among friends and people that are willing to work with you - our staff is willing to give you pointers or practice with you free of charge.

How old do I have to be to participate?

To participate in any of our leagues you must be at least 19 years old at the time of registration – however, you MUST be at least 21+ to participate in any bar activities!

FREE AGENT vs. SMALL GROUP vs. FULL TEAM which one do I pick?

FREE AGENT – simply sign up as yourself during the registration process and we’ll place you on a super cool team.

SMALL GROUP – If you and 2 friends (3 people total) want to join a league, you’ll choose SMALL GROUP. Under the sport you and your friends want to play, select SMALL GROUP, sign up and checkout as yourself.
In your personal account settings, you can “ADD PARTICIPANTS”. Here you’ll add your 2 other friend’s information. We’ll add you to a team or combined you with other SMALL GROUPS/FREE AGENTS to make a full team.

FULL TEAM – If you have enough friends that want to play as an entire team, you’ll choose FULL TEAM. Under the sport you and your friends want to play, select FULL TEAM, sign up and checkout as yourself. You can register/sign-up the team roster minimum or up-to the team roster maximum, and any number in-between.
In your personal account settings, you can “ADD PARTICIPANTS”. Here you’ll add all your friend’s information.

For SMALL GROUP or FULL TEAM, you can always go into your account – using your username and password during the registration process – and ADD or DELETE players.

For any questions, feel free to email us at [email protected]

What are the FULL TEAM details?

For a FULL TEAM you need to sign up at least that particular sport’s roster minimum; you can also sign up a particular sport’s roster maximum as well – the FULL TEAM price is still the same either way.

Obviously, it’s better financially to sign up the maximum amount of players on a team, but we understand it can be difficult to find that many people to play so a minimum is allowed for that instance – and any number of players between the minimum and maximum is allowed as well. Again, it’s the same price regardless.

Here are some examples: Signing up for Flag Football – the roster minimum is 8 people and the roster maximum is 12.

You and 7 friends (total of 8 players) want to play flag football – you sign up as a FULL TEAM. We will add a SMALL GROUP or FREE AGENTS to your team to get to the roster max of 12 people.

You and 9 friends (total of 10) want to play flag football – you sign up as a FULL TEAM. We will add a SMALL GROUP or FREE AGENTS to get the team to the roster max.

You and 11 friends (total of 12) want to play flag football – you sign up as a FULL TEAM and you’re all set for the season!

What if there is bad weather the day I am supposed to play?

Do not assume the games are cancelled if it’s raining/snowing/cloudy or just ”yucky” where you are. Check the website, email, or call us and we’ll let you know if the game is cancelled. We will also email and text your team captain informing them of a cancellation.

We’ll do our best to reschedule all cancelled games due to weather. We also do our best to get games in and may wait until closer to game time to make a final decision – this is Colorado, and weather here is crazy; it could rain for 20 minutes and be perfectly sunny the next 4 hours. We use a number of city fields where the city may close the field due to weather, even though you may think it’s playable.

What if I get injured, move, etc?

Players play Peak League Sports at their own risk. Sports are inherently dangerous. Peak League Sports does not provide health insurance to any players and does not refund players’ fees if they are injured.

If you move, your schedule changes, don’t like your team, etc..we’re sorry but refunds are still not issued. Players should know the risks and think twice if they do not have health insurance.

What are the Sponsored Bars/Breweries and after game specials?

Sponsor Bars/Breweries will be listed on the “Perks/Sponsors” page! There, you’ll be able to see what bars/breweries around town we have partnered up with for your after game tom-foolery. Some weeks we'll designated a certain bar where we'll have fun games to play - Trivia, Cards against Humanity, ect - where the winner will get a FREE BEER.

Next to the sponsor will be the specials they are offering. You and your team can decide which bar/brewery to go to after the game. You’ll need to be wearing your Peak League t-shirt to get the specials though.

When will I know about my schedule?

Typically around 3 days before the start of the season/league, you will receive a league information + schedule email from us. The schedule will also be posted on the website under “Schedule”  and under “Team Central” 3 days before the start of the league

I just heard about you, can I still join, and is there a sign-up deadline?

We want to keep Fort Collins active so we’re always willing to try and work with you and try and get you out on the field/court. Shoot us an email or give us a call and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

Sign up deadlines are usually 2-3 days prior to the start date of a league. This may vary due to how quickly the league is filling up – some leagues may fill out well in advance so make sure to take advantage of the early bird specials and sign up early.

What are the Team Captain responsibilities?

You’re kind of the biggest deal in Fort Collins! The team captain is the Commander and Chief, the big kahuna, the Don…you get it. You are a leader by example and set the tone for your team – just like Peyton Manning or Derek Jeter. You are the voice of your team as well; you address any issues on the field, or off.

You should also make sure that your team has enough players for the upcoming games by emailing/texting/telegramming and taking “roll call” of who is showing up.

I want to play, but I may have to miss a game or two for a wedding/work/etc?

If you miss a game, that’s totally fine. We put extra people on the team as we realize everyone can’t make every week. However, if you need to miss more than half the season, it’s probably best to pick another league.
