FC Girondins de Bordeaux Announces USA Youth Soccer Club Affiliation

FC Girondins de Bordeaux USA has established a partnership with FC Girondins de Bordeaux which was founded in 1881, has won six (6) Ligue 1 titles and is recognized as one of the most successful football clubs in Europe. Notable players over the clubs success include: Zinedine Zidane, Jean-Pierre Papin, Lilian Laslandes, Christophe Dugarry, Patrick Battiston, and Jean Amadou Tigana.

FC Girondins de Bordeaux USA is a premier travel and youth development program based in Montgomery County, Maryland that will develop players to their highest potential and field teams that play at the highest local, regional and national levels.

The Club was formed by former professional soccer player and current head coach of Olney Girls ’99 and ’03 teams Nenad Vilotijevic and former FC Girondins de Bordeaux professional and Yugoslavian National soccer player Nisa Saveljic. The club was formed to “provide a professional youth development environment with a direct link between the USA and a professional club in France” stated Nenad Vilotijevic, President of FC Girondins de Bordeaux USA.

The club begins its inaugural season competing in Eastern Regional League (formerly Region 1), Eastern Development Program (EDP) and MSYSA State Cup competitions. Two existing teams, Olney Girls 99 and Olney Girls 03, currently coached by Nenad Vilotijevic will begin their Fall 2017 season as members of the new FC Girondins de Bordeaux USA club.
