The Clayton RailRoaders are excited to announce that its continuing its mission to enhance the opportunities it provides for its players, their families and the community. In order to do this, the RailRoaders are forming a partnership with one of the most elite travel baseball organizations in the country, 5 Star National Baseball based out of Warner Robbins, Georgia. The organization already has 3 facilities in North Carolina with more on the horizon.
Since its inception in 1985, 5 Star National has given elite players the opportunity to suit up at the highest levels. 5 Star National players have received 4,221 college scholarships and have had 143 players drafted by MLB organizations. There is no doubt that this partnership, which will retain and bring top talent, high level coaching, top notch facilities and industry veterans, will continue to improve the RailRoaders’ overall goal.
Locally, we will be a part of 5 Star Carolina which already fields more than 12 teams at the youth level throughout the state, as well as 13 showcase teams. This high level of baseball has yielded 57 college commits in 2019, 42 college commits for 2020, 10 for 2021 and 2 already for 2022.We do want to make sure that everyone understands the Clayton RailRoaders are not going anywhere!
We will continue to provide quality travel baseball to local youth, just like we have done since 2017. This partnership offers our higher level teams (D2 and above) and players a future benefit, unmatched by many in the area. As of now, our 8U Maroon and 11U Maroon will be playing under the 5 Star name, with more to possibly follow.
We are truly excited for this to happen and thank ALL of the players, families and members of community who have supported us along the way. Our focus has not changed, but our future has gotten much brighter!
