Mission Statement

To provide the finest performance-training program, professionally implemented, to optimize athletic performance, reduce risk of injury and increase individual/team success.

Philosophy

The primary goal of the LIFEperformance program is to minimize risk of injury by adequately preparing all athletes for the demands of practice and competition. It is well established that effective training programs improve joint stability and joint range of motion, increase muscular strength and power, enhance movement mechanics, and increase energy system function. The end result is a heightened ability to manage the physical stress of competition.

The second goal of the LIFEperformance program is to improve the physical performance capabilities of each athlete and contribute to the success of each individual/team. This is accomplished through consistent, sport-specific training that challenges each athlete mentally and physically. Specifically, movement-based training built on a foundation of proven principles is effectively periodized to prepare each athlete for optimal performance during the competitive season.

The third goal of the LIFEperformance program is to develop character in the lives of the athletes committed to this entity.

Performance Training

The goal of performance training is to increase the physical performance of the athlete in order to enhance sport performance. Physical performance items include:

  • Strength
  • Speed

Bill Allerheiligen

Bill has over 35 years experience as a strength and conditioning professional. His work experience includes professional sports (NFL, professional boxing), college sports (Nebraska, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Wyoming) and high school sports.

As a strength and conditioning coach, Bill has utilized scientific research to develop successful programs at all levels. Most sports require speed and power to be successful. To develop and administer such programs requires a great deal of knowledge in the areas of plyometrics, speed development, leg power, and total body strength.

Bill introduced Velocity Based Strength Training (VBT) to LIFEperformance athletes. VBT is strongly supported by current research and emphasizes lifting velocity rather than heavy weights. The result is greater increases in leg power and vertical jump.

Bill has been a college and professional strength coach for 20+ years and a college instructor in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, and program design. He has been a strength coach at Nebraska, Kansas State, Wyoming, and the University of Arkansas. Professional jobs include the Houston Oilers, and the training of four World Champion boxers. Strength training for volleyball has included three colleges which went to the NCAA National Tournament. It also includes extensive experience with high school and youth volleyball programs.

Some notable things in his career include: founding member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, National Strength Coach of the Year, national and international speaker, College sponsor for the FCA, and a textbook author.
