2023-24 Laurens Travel Teams
Beginning in the 2023-24 season, we are excited to announce we will be offering travel teams based out of Laurens, SC. We know that many families in the Laurens, SC area have had to travel to Greenville, Columbia, or other areas to participate in club volleyball in the past, and we are thrilled to be able to offer a place to play closer to home for them. Team Levels
In 2023-24, we will be offering our Club Level teams in Laurens (State and Regional). Click here for more information about these team levels, including tournament schedules, uniform packages, etc.
Coaches
We are working closely with area middle and high school coaches, as well as some former C1 players and local collegiate players to fill our coaching staff in Laurens. We expect to have more information by the time team offers are sent out.
Practice Locations
We have secured the Ridge at Laurens for Sunday afternoon/evening practices. This is a beautiful 4-court facility! Weeknight practices will be held at either the Ridge at Laurens or other local area gyms. We have not determined which weeknights we will offer practices yet. Practices will begin after Thanksgiving.
Tryouts
Because of the short turnaround this year, we will be holding Laurens team tryouts in conjunction with our Greenville team tryouts on Saturday 10/21 and Sunday 10/22 at the C1 Sportsplex in Mauldin. I'm already registered for Greenville tryouts, can you transfer my registration?
Yes! Please email [email protected] with your player's full name and we will transfer the registration.
Can I be considered for Laurens and Greenville teams?
Yes, but we ask that you let us know which location is your top choice. This will aid in us forming teams after tryouts. Note that we have a very large pool of players for our Greenville tryouts this season, and expect there to be limited spots available on those teams due to gym space.
How many teams will you offer and what age and level will they be?
Based on the interest we've received so far, we expect to offer 3-4 teams in Laurens. Ages will be dependent upon players' USAV age groups, but we are tentatively planning for a 12U, 14U, 15U, and 17U. That may change based on player interest and positions and will be determined after tryouts. Team levels will be either State or Regional, depending on player skill and age groups.
What if I can't attend tryouts?
If you can attend any part of the tryouts on 10/21-10/22, even with a different age group, that would be the best option. We also have a makeup tryout in Greenville on 10/24 that will be open to Laurens players too. If none of those dates work for you, please contact [email protected] so we can try to come up with a solution.
