UPDATE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL PLAYERS

We have seen huge growth in our league over the past 5 years and in doing so it has changed the number of kids in our program that are trying out for and making their middle school teams. Unfortunately for some that has meant making a decision to not play little league due to the number if nights these teams are practicing and playing. The reality is that the middle school season is very short and each year we begin to get calls about 2-3 weeks into our season of those that realize they are almost done and we are just beginning. To add kids at that point throws off our roster and creates a negative experience for some due to draft process and making changes afterwards.

This was discussed in length at our board meeting last night and after looking at multiple senecios we decided to make an adjustment to our start dates to allow these kids to play Little League with very little overlap for most.

Intermediate and Senior League teams will begin practices at our normal pre-provided dates with all weekday practices starting no earlier than 6:30 to allow theses players to participate. They will also practice two weeks longer than younger divisions and start games mid April which puts most middle school programs at their schedules end. These games early in the season will remain at 7:00p like last year to allow anyone still playing middle school ball to make it on time. We hope this will encourage all players playing Middle School ball to register now and know that they can play both with little inconvenience or missed participation. We will add one game a week to the final 2 weeks of season so our season will still conclude at the same time and leave time to practice for All-Stars.
