Tara Cushman - Director and Coach

Tara Cushman has over 20 years of playing and coaching experience in the game of lacrosse. She was a founding member of Scituate High School lacrosse (Massachusetts) and served as a team captain for her sophomore, junior, and senior years. After high school, she went on to play at Western New England University (Springfield, MA) and was a four-year starter in goal. While at WNEU, she served as the team captain her junior and senior years, set the school record for wins, and was named to the All-Conference team all four years. Her team won three conference championships and appeared in three NCAA tournaments during her tenure. Upon graduation, Coach Cushman became an assistant coach at WNEU, including serving as Interim Head Coach during the 2009 season. In 2012, Coach Cushman took a position coaching Somers Girls Lacrosse (CT) and helped them go from a 2-14 team in 2011, to eventually setting the school record for wins (16-4; 3 losses to eventual State Champions Granby), ranking 3rd in the state, and losing in the state semi-finals in her final season there (2015). While coaching at WNEU and Somers, Cushman also continued to coach with her high school club team, Mass Elite. While with Mass Elite, she served as Director of Goalies and sent goalies off to play at UMass, Navy, University of Colorado, Vanderbilt, Columbia, and UNH. Cushman is now serving in her 2nd year with Nease Girls Lacrosse taking over as Head Coach after serving the 2017 season as Assistant Coach.

Marina, Aubrie and Madison will be helping out with our U10 girls at Wards Creek Elementary School. They are founders of the Wards Creek Elementary School Lax Club and have made huge steps in growing the game at the youth level! We are excited to announce they will be continuing to help develop and grow the game for our U10s!
