Jeremy Payne has been selected to lead Eastern University Men's Soccer following the retirement of 19-year head Coach Mark Wagner. Payne has served on Eastern's coaching staff for two years as an assistant.

He joined the Eastern University Men's Soccer coaching staff in 2015 after a very successful career as a midfielder/forward for the Messiah College Falcons. In four years with the Falcons, Payne won two National Championships, was a three-time First-Team All-American (NSCAA & D3Soccer), was named the D3Soccer Midfielder of the Year twice, D3Soccer Forward of the Year once and NSCAA National Player of the Year in both 2012 and 2014. Payne also played in the USL League 2 with the Southern West Virginia King's Warriors.

In the classroom, Payne studied business administration and was a member of the MAC Academic All-Conference team in 2013, 2014. At Eastern, Payne is working on an MBA.

Payne's coaching experience includes working the Messiah College and U.S. Naval Academy soccer camps for four years as well as coaching the Mechanicsburg Middle School junior high boy's soccer team. He also coaches club soccer at Penn Fusion.


Alex Noel
Assistant Coach

Alex Noel joined the Eastern University Men’s Soccer staff, in 2019, after recently graduating from Immaculata University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Business Management and Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Management. At Immaculata he earned All Conference honors all four years he played. His freshman year he awarded CSAC Rookie of the Year and second-team All Conference, while the following three years he was named to the conference’s first team.

Noel left Immaculata with the career records in goals, assists, and points. He was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Academic All-Area Team three times, CoSIDA Academic All-Region two times, and Conference All-Academic Team four times. He was named Immaculata’s Most Outstanding Senior Athlete and Senior Scholar Athlete.

In addition to his role here, he currently works with Penn Fusion Soccer Academy.

Noel is also working towards his MBA at Eastern University.


Luke Nolan
Assistant Coach

Luke Nolan joined the Eastern University Men’s Soccer staff, in 2019, after a successful playing career at Geneva College.

He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate with degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. As a goalkeeper at Geneva, Nolan was a three-time All-President's Athletic Conference (PAC) selection. He helped the Golden Tornadoes reach the PAC Championship in three consecutive seasons. They won the Championship in 2016.

While at Eastern, Nolan will be tasked with all facets of the program’s operations and logistics. He will also responsible for training the goalkeepers.

In addition to his coaching role, Nolan will also be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and coaching at the club level with Lower Merion Soccer Club.
